Right now the entire country is teetering on the edge into authoritarianism.  The Court must put this embarrassment to rest sooner than later.

I would expect a ruling sometime today or tonight. Unanimous denial of leave to file suit.

As has been previously said in this thread, Justice Thomas has a long line of opinions where he states his belief that SCOTUS can never deny leave to file when the Court has exclusive jurisdiction. He's usually joined by Alito on those decisions. Unless the case is heard on the merits it will not be 9-0.

I do agree that the likely outcome is a per curiam denial of leave to file along with a Thomas dissent.

Republican politicians aren’t actually afraid of Trump; they’re afraid of Trump supporters. Trump loyalists constitute at least half of the modern Republican Party membership and are a radicalized, extremist group out-of-touch with reality.
