Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, former NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, or South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem?

Haley gives him foreign policy chops and experience, and diversity in getting women.
Kelly is a law and order man who will appeal to suburban voters and served in the Marines, so the country would be safe on Day One
Noem gives him female support and Midwestern appeal

Who'd be the best choice?

Kim Reynolds would actually be better than Noem. She looks more competent. Noem looks like a dumb bimbo (I'm not saying she is). Optics matter. Iowa is also closer culturally and geographically to Wisconsin (crucial swing state) than South Dakota.

Condoleezza Rice would be the best choice. Of those listed, Kristi Noem would be the best choice.

Doesn't matter. Two younger governors. Perfect contrast especially if Biden is the nominee.

Not Noem, a serial underperformer in South Dakota itself.

Haley and Kelly both seem to have particular weaknesses; Haley seems like she often has conflicts with wings of the party she doesn't belong to, and Kelly has never really ran a political campaign before and might do poorly in the national environment (like Stockdale).

Of these three, probably Haley (although Kelly is an interesting out-of-the-box suggestion), but the obvious best choices are Tim Scott or Joni Ernst.

Or other successful red-state Governors, like Youngkin or Abbott.

Biden was taller than Obama though.

Ok folks, since you asked I am making a totally wild pick: JEANETTE NUNEZ.

Why not? Yes, she is Lt. Governor of Florida and that would be wild BUT DeSantis has been very complimentary of her throughout his first four years.

He's a little too new on the scene IMO. Lombardo would be a good cabinet pick for DeSantis, especially at DHS.

Anyway Tim Scott would be my pick.

Congratulations on the Democrats for winning Florida's 30 electoral votes.

Electors from Florida wouldn't be able to vote for them.

I don’t think he’ll pick her for obvious reasons, but if he did it’s not like it’d be hard to change one of their voter registrations to another state.

I am pretty convinced DeSantis will pick a Woman if he is the Nominee Smiley
Narrowing the Gender Gap is very important. We cannot lose the Female Vote like Trump did in 2020.

I think it would be difficult since they're the sitting governor and lt. governor of their state.

None of the above. Haley isn’t Trumpy enough, nobody besides Bronz knows who Kelly is or cares about him, and Noem’s views on COVID and marijuana (and I suspect many other issues) are too extreme.

Fair point - I guess one would have to resign? Which seems more work than whatever benefit he thinks he’d get from it.

Actually not. Biden is about 6'0 and Obama is approximately 6'1.5.

I believe there were just two instances in which the vice president was taller in recent decades: HW Bush was taller than Reagan (6'2 and 6'1, respectively) and Lyndon Johnson was taller than Jack Kennedy (6'3.5 and 6'1, respectively).

As for Youngkin and DeSantis, I don't think it really matters. However, I see Youngkin more as a cabinet secretary. Tim Scott would be an ideal running mate for DeSantis. Especially because of his senate experience and because he's African American. He might at least win over a few black men in a general election.

As a Republican and a DeSantis supporter, I am partial to EITHER Glenn Youngkin or Kristi Noem. I would be satisfied with either of these candidates as VP.
