Also, if you're taking requests, can you do Eglin AFB (Okaloosa County FL)?

So.... Originally I did not recognize the challenge that you were presenting, when it came to Eglin AFB...

Not only do we have multiple military base precincts, but additionally we have various military units from Army Rangers to Special Forces who appear to be associated within primary "Base Precincts".

(Again trying not to go too far off turf when it comes to "Off-Base Military Precincts / Armed Service off-base Ghettos".)

By that I simply mean that just like heavily College Towns and Universities you have the "Student Ghettos" (Off-Campus), just like within Military Base Communities you got (Off-Base) heavily Military precincts, so for example Wright-Patterson AFB would become much more complicated outside of the "Base Precincts".

Florida--- Eglin Air Force Base- Okaloosa County- Precincts- #10 and #23:

Very nice, thanks.  I lived in the county for a few years, working as a contractor on the base.  It's pretty much the only industry there apart from beach tourism.  The Air Force folks I worked with tended to be a conservative group.  It's quite interesting to see such a D swing this year.

When I worked there, my company once got mail addressed to us at "Eggland" Air Force Base.  Seriously.

Alabama- Maxwell Air Force Base- Montgomery County- Precinct # 203

Base Precinct Only---

https://www.maxwell.af.mil/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxwell_Air_Force_Base

2020 GE PRES:

Biden:   740     (85.2%)        (+71.7% Biden)      (+6.8% Trump Swing)
Trump:  117     (13.5%)
Misc:      12      ( 1.4%)
Total:    869                          ( -30.7% decrease in TV from 2016 to 2020).

2016 GE PRES:

HRC:    1,110   (88.5%)       (+78.5% Clinton)
Trump:    125   (10.0%)
Misc:        19    ( 1.5%)
Total:   1,254

NOTE: Montgomery County total absentee ballots (Not included in County precinct results went from 4k in '16 to 24k in '20).

I would be extremely skeptical about Military Base swings at Maxwell AFB considering the evidence at hand.

California- Travis Air Force Base- Solano County-

Precinct # 53007

*** It appears to include the barracks and housing on the North Side of the Base, an elementary school, etc... so from the Solano County precinct map, likely a Base precinct ***

2020 PRES:

Biden:   817   (62.6%)        +29.2% Biden
Trump:  436   (33.4%)
Misc:      55    (4.0%)
Total:   1,305

2016 PRES:

Unfortunately I could not do a 2016 GE comparison, since the precinct only shows (12) voters in 2016, and I was not able to identify which precinct the remainder of the votes were counted in.

There is also precinct # 33295 (South side of the base), where the airfield is, but there were no votes shown in the Solano County SOV for either 2020 or 2016.

So I decided to create a table of results compiled thus far, which I have updated at the top of the thread for United States Air Force military base votes.

Here's what I have compiled thus far:

Apologies for the slow pace of this project, as not only are there other items I have been working on, but additionally before I post, I go through and try to match against precinct maps, Google Maps & Mapquest, etc... Unfortunately, it is a bit more labor intensive than some other items, since for most of these I do not already have the precinct coding "pre-generated" so basically it is building from scratch.

Montana- Malmstrom Air Force Base- Cascade County

Precinct 26-B

It includes the airstrip and base housing areas in the NW part of the precinct.

It also appears to include some "quasi rural" non-base areas directly to the North of the Base and South of the River.

Unfortunately I can't tell what the population of that area is since the Census Block Tract for the "non-base" section does not break it down by a Block Group for that portion of the precinct.

Note: Write-In ballots are NOT included in the Misc & Total Votes

2020 GE PRES:

Biden:   160     (35.6%)        (+20.7% Trump)      (+7.7% Biden Swing)
Trump:  253     (56.3%)
Misc:      36      (8.0%)
Total:    449                          ( +28.7% increase in TV from 2016 to 2020).

2016 GE PRES:

HRC:      101   (28.9%)       (+28.4% Trump)
Trump:   200   (57.3%)
Misc:       48    (13.8%)
Total:     349

Massachusetts- Hanscom Air Force Base- Middlesex County:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanscom_Air_Force_Base

https://www.hanscom.af.mil/

*** This was trickier than I thought it might be, because of the nature of Town reporting in MA ***

1.) Bedford- Ward 2 includes the Northern portion of the base and had 2.2k Votes in the 2020 PRES GE.

Still with a total of 1,943 Residents living "On Base", as well as reviewing the maps it appears that there are significant areas which are "off-base", so at this point I will just post these numbers for reference and not consider Ward 2 to be representative of a primary "Base Precinct" or "Off-base" (Primarily active duty US Armed Force members / Spouses).

Perhaps this should be considered more of a "Base Community" precinct meaning there are a significant number of civilians whose jobs are closely associated with the presence of a large USAF base.

2020 GE PRES:

Biden:   1,457    (67.3%)        (+37.3% Biden)      (+10.8% Biden Swing)
Trump:     649    (30.0%)
Misc:         59     (2.7%)
Total:    2,165                        ( +10.9% increase in TV from 2016 to 2020).

2016 GE PRES:

HRC:      1,165   (59.7%)         (+26.5% Biden)
Trump:      648   (33.2%)
Misc:         139   (7.1%)
Total:     1,952

Meanwhile, we have the Town of Lincoln directly to the South which includes two precincts.

Unfortunately, I cannot tell from the precinct map, which precinct includes the Base precinct voters, versus which one does not.

Again, regardless of which best to treat these as more "Off-Base" Military, with a significant number of Civilians who employment is directly tied to the presence of a local Military Base.

Lincoln- Precinct #1:

2020 GE PRES:

Biden:   2,139    (83.6%)        (+69.8% Biden)      (+5.0% Biden Swing)
Trump:     354    (13.8%)
Misc:         66     (2.6%)
Total:    2,559                        ( +7.8% increase in TV from 2016 to 2020).

2016 GE PRES:

HRC:      1,873   (78.9%)         (+64.8% Biden)
Trump:      334   (14.1%)
Misc:         166   (7.0%)
Total:     2,373

Lincoln- Precinct #2:

2020 GE PRES:

Biden:   1,354   (79.1%)        (+59.9% Biden)      (+6.2% Biden Swing)
Trump:     329   (19.2%)
Misc:         29    (1.7%)
Total:    1,712                       ( +10.6% increase in TV from 2016 to 2020).

2016 GE PRES:

HRC:      1,123   (72.5%)         (+53.7% HRC)
Trump:      291   (18.8%)
Misc:         134   (8.7%)
Total:     1,548

At this point... I unless some Atlas poster can provide a greater breakdown, I will not be including these numbers as Military Base Votes, but rather Military Base Community Votes.

Louisiana- Barksdale Air Force Base- Bossier Parish:

Precinct 2-15

*** Unfortunately these election results are all CRAP, because of Bossier Parish does not break down "Absentee Votes by Precinct", (NOVA GREEN pet peeve) and over 50% of Parish Votes were cast Absentee in 2020, making precinct level results virtually meaningless, although regardless ED votes overwhelmingly DEM indicate that Absentee Ballots would likely meet or exceed 2016 DEM % Margins with larger TV***

This is all I can do here, unfortunately...

2020 GE PRES:

Misc:         59     (23.3%)

North Dakota- Grand Forks Air Force Base- Grand Forks County:

So honestly, I can't say either of the two precincts are at all representative of USAF Members and Family....

We have (2) precincts which loosely correlate with the GF AFB, but without clear precinct maps, likely also include some extremely Republican Farming and Ranching off-base country in surrounding Townships...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Forks_Air_Force_Base

https://www.grandforks.af.mil/

*** I would be extremely skeptical about considering these precinct results representative of GFAFB Voters and will not be including these numbers in my Base / Off-Base calculations unless someone provides additional data to support the case ***

I have never violated that pledge, but still one of the best of the best of Atlas who was able to take his/her interest in Precinct Level data for the PacNW and not only make a business off of it, but still share a few items with some Old Skool Comrades.

McChord AFB would be another interesting one, it is in my neck of the woods.  I think GOP usually does well there, big reason Pierce County is more competitive than other counties in Seattle metro area.

Really illustrates the fact that there are too many bases in the United States. Shut a lot of them down.

Just wait until the Space Force is up-and-running.

99% funds going to golf courses and lobster dinners at the DFAC.  And to keep Wyoming, Colorado, and Montana civilians employed on post in do-nothing jobs.  Because Freedumb, and "support the troops".

...and the heavy-lifting of space operations still falling on the Navy and the regular Air Force.

This is perhaps a bit ironic, but Buckley AFB in Colorado (Home to many US Military members who will be serving for at Senior Levels for the new "Space Force" are actually some of the most Democratic voting USAF precincts, which I have covered thus far. Biden: Trump 2:1 + 2020)

Thus far it appears that "Space Force" members tend to skew heavily Democratic vs Trumpista....

Coryell County:

We have (2) precincts which appear to include part of Fort Hood, one of which appears to be primarily a base precinct, and the other including non-base rural areas / communities:

Precinct #311: (Old Ironsides Ave & Battalion Ave)

2020 GE PRES:

Biden:      132   (53.7%)        (+11.0% Biden)      (+3.0% Trump Swing)

Precinct # 206 (Tank Destroyer Ave).

*** The 2020 Precinct results have (3) different splits so can't dissect in great detail, in terms of base vote vs Rural Vote ***

2020 GE PRES:

Biden:      608   (46.9%)        (+2.1% Trump)      (+7% Biden Swing)
Trump:     635   (49.0%)
Misc:          52    (4.0%)
Total:      1,295

2016 GE PRES:

HRC:        399   (42%)         (+9% Trump)
Trump:     489   (51%)
Misc:         ?      (7%)
Total:        ?

*** Note Coryell County 2016 Results are based upon the NYT Precinct Map ***

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/upshot/election-2016-voting-precinct-maps.html#12.31/31.1393/-97.8610

I plan to follow-up further with the "Off-Base Vote" since Fort Hood is a large sprawling Military Facility, and many Active Duty US Armed Force members live in apartments and off-base housing...

Still, looks like Fort Hood "Base Vote" in 2020 was essentially a virtual tie, and possibly either a narrow Biden or Trump win, depending upon the splits in Coryell County precinct #206.

Is precinct # 206 BS5 predominately Military or Rural Splits?

Haven't really run the "Off-Base" numbers yet for Fort Hood, but Killeen, Texas is definitely a "Base Community", including a significant amount of US Armed Forces & Families, not to mention Civilian Contractors whose jobs are directly connected to the base.

Killen, Texas:

Misc:       1,047    (2.6%)
Total:      44,369                      ( +36.5% increase in TV from 2016 to 2020).

2016 GE PRES:

HRC:      19,285   (59.3%)         (+24.8% HRC)

For Bernalillo County, New Mexico, there are two on-base precincts: 257 (empty now but used to have military housing) and 258 (where everyone moved to).

Precinct 273 contains a “Military Ghetto” in the west, but also includes regular civilian housing in the rest of it, so not sure how you sift that out.

Hope that helps.

Texas- Goodfellow Air Force Base- Tom Green County:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodfellow_Air_Force_Base

https://www.goodfellow.af.mil/

Precinct # 230:

Although this includes Goodfellow AFB itself it also appears to include a significant number of non US Military personnel.

Something like 2,300 people reside in the Goodfellow AFB Census Tract, but 3,600 reside in Glenmore which appears to be part of the same precinct, as well as likely some other folks...

Still for sake of being thorough, I am including the results regardless of the fact that this precinct appears to include a large majority of voters not directly connected with the USAF Base.

Not quite sure how to code this precinct yet, maybe as a split base precinct, but majority non-base and non-military?

Regardless of almost a 10% DEM swing between '16 and '20, without knowing *where* the swings came from, best to just make a note of it and move on.

2020 GE PRES:

Biden:     1,041  (28.6%)        (+40.5% Trump)      (+9.7% Biden Swing)
Trump:    2,517  (69.1%)
Misc:           83    (2.3%)
Total:      3,641                     ( +12.9% increase in TV from 2016 to 2020).

2016 GE PRES:

HRC:          708   (22.0%)       (+50.2% Trump)
Trump:    2,329   (72.2%)
Misc:          188     (5.8%)
