Precinct # 101: Trident

Base Precinct:

2020 GE PRES:

Biden:      268   (43.7%)        (+3.1% Trump)      (+9.1% Biden Swing)

Total:       509

Full Disclosure: Back in the late '80s / early '90s I had a friend "Al" who was +10 Yrs on me who served in the USN at this very facility. He told me a story about how how he wanted to break his Military Contract and smoked a joint (3) Times in a row in front of his CO, before they finally discharged him, because he was considered essential with his position working on a Nuclear Submarine...

He thought he would get a "Dishonorable Discharge", but his boss fudged the paperwork, so he ended up with an "Honorable Discharge", and slummed around the Military Ghetto Communities of Bremerton before he moved down to Oregon...

True Story....

Seems like high number of third party votes, but guessing a lot in military normally vote Republican, but for obvious reasons dislike Trump so going for third parties as cannot vote Democrat.

The number of 3rd Party Votes (Especially in 2016) is perhaps not as surprising as it might initially seem, considering that composition of the United States Armed Forces tends to skew both much younger, as well as much more heavily Male than the US Population overall.

Also, I should note that although this research project is still fairly early on, it is interesting to observe regional variations when it comes to 3rd Party Voting patterns.

Some of this might be explained by the fact (Although granted this might have changed more in recent years), that generally Military recruiters  and the selection process based upon the skill-sets of the candidates, will provide "preference options" for the various Service Branches.

Granted once you sign up, technically you are Government Property and can be deployed or assigned where ever the needs are greatest, but it's not like the US Military in the Post-Vietnam era of a Professional Military composition, doesn't try to provide options for Enlistees where frequently their "Home Base" options are more closely aligned nearer to where their friends & family members live.

Perhaps this might possibly explain why we see Navy, Army, & Air Force Bases in Washington State with something like 20% 3rd Party Voting in 2016, whereas much lower % of 3rd Party support in US Military Bases in the Deep South where many of the Service Members are African-American or "White-American" in a region where traditionally there is historically a much lower level of 3rd Party voting patterns.

IDK--- and as I stated above this is still a project with a lot more ground to cover, so as I stated on the opener to the thread, it's more about collecting the raw data (Starting with the Base Vote numbers), which at least provides a bit of a starting point for discussion, on a topic which generally IMHO has been underdiscussed in 2020 by the MSM and Political Pundits in direct contrast to the '16 and '08 narratives.

Oklahoma- Fort Sill- -Comanche County:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Sill

https://sill-www.army.mil/

https://sill-www.army.mil/428thfa/1-30/_docs/Visitor_Map.pdf

So Basically it looks likes Fort Sill extends from North of Highway 62 (To the South), and West of I-44 to the East....

Maybe I am absolutely "Off-Track" or "Off-Base", but it appears as though we have the "Base Precinct" identified.

http://geo.ou.edu/oeb/COMANCHE/pc031.pdf

Please jump in if my data is incorrect... gets murky looking at County precinct maps and military base outlines, especially without an opportunity to get eye surgery as a result of COVID-19:

2020 GE PRES:

Biden:      171   (42.1%)        (+6.2% Trump)      (+1.5% Trump Swing)
Trump:     196   (48.3%)
Misc:          39    (9.6%)
Total:       406                      (+26.9% increase in TV from 2016 to 2020).

2016 GE PRES:

HRC:        136  (42.5%)         (+4.7% Trump)
Trump:     151  (47.2%)
Misc:          33  (10.3%)
Total:       320

This is actually extremely interesting considering that of the (39) precincts in Comanche County, there were only (12) precincts which swung Trump from '16 > '20.

Makes me wonder to what extent there was an "off-base" Military Vote elsewhere in the County, especially in Lawton or the precinct directly to the East.

Precinct #30 Stands out directly across from the Base....

lulz.   Imagine joining the US military, and being stationed stateside.

I work underground in Nebraska with many Navy people who joined up to see the world.  It's hilarious.

But most military people spend most of their career in the US.  Training, painting and jogging.

When are we getting to Offutt?
