It's over 20 years old so parts of it seem kind of dated but I remember some people being really offended by it even 20 years ago.

Quote
Not a fraction of these beliefs are believable
And I haven't even begun to try to comprehend what you claim to be so true
Because I alone am smarter than your completely flawless outlook
Yeah, your completely flawless outlook
I alone am smarter
Yeah, I can fit so much into this tiny brain
Trapped deep beneath this thickened skull
I can fit so much into this tiny brain
This tiny brain
And I didn't care for so long
I get to ponder life with disgusting apathy
This is an application
This is my entirety
I know, I know
Cover your ears, because it's time for the truth
I've questioned you before and received nothing more than irresponsible, thoughtless ideology
One which stresses an independent way of thinking with no hope but your own
You're running backwards and you're getting nowhere fast
You trip over every word you utter and you still proclaim complete awareness and perfection
I've never heard so many foolish thoughts born from such a feeble mind
But it's nothing new
You aren't different
Your way of thinking has been around for centuries by those who felt they had to challenge every teaching, no matter how perfect
No matter how beautiful that teaching was
Where has that challenge gotten them now?
You want your own mind?
You want to make your own decisions?
You want to think for yourself?
It becomes hard when you don't know what you think and all that's left to do is protect your foolish mindset by using some elaborate word to cover up the fact that you spend your time being unsure about everything
Your disguise has proven self-transparent and your mask hides only the impressionable, it's true victims
I will not be your victim
I will not bathe in your flames
I will not wallow in your disease
You don't scare me
Your makeup, your women's clothing
They don't make me shudder
I'm sorry if that's what you had in mind
And all your childish threats strike panic into my heart
No!
This is not a joke
This is not an act
I want a reaction
I want to strike more than just a nerve
Do you feel it?
You've been wrong this whole time
This whole time
Your book of Satan
Your book of Mormon
Your Qur'an
They've been wrong this whole time
You think the truth is painful?
Continue in the (minutes) this motive until it's your time to go
That is pain
When there's no transplant
When you're under it completely
(?)
And idolize your every fall
(?)Have you ever thought about how it might feel?
Has your brain ever stretched past the boundaries of the obvious?
Isn't there more?
You have no standards, and no morals
You live for nothing
Continue to reject and you'll be nothing
I hate this, all of it
This is your fault
And when it ends look not into my hands for your life
Your life
And I answer all my own questions
So why even bother asking?
All I know is that I don't know
Because I'm a fool and my pride dies with me
My pride dies with me
Yeah

I consider this song very bad but for stylistic reasons. How freaking long and unpoetic are the lines?

Also:
Lmao I read through the lyrics thrice and was convinced this was an atheist anti-religious song, then I went on Wikipedia to check and apparently Training For Utopia is a Christian rock band?
Lmao again, half of that stuff could be easily uttered by John Dule in another context.

Wait, so this was written by a bunch of Christians talking about how ridiculous other belief systems are? Lol!

Yeah, it seems so. Your smugness about it is definitely earned.

.did you listen to it? Kind of impossible to do a song in this style that isn't rambling and unpoetic.

Also you didn't get that?

Is an atheist's description of Christianity! "You claim you believe in XYZ but then you [example of hypocritical behavior]."

I can't imagine I will go to Furnace Fest anytime soon, although Birmingham is a city with an interesting history and I guess it's a plausible excuse to visit it (but this applies more to you and your phobia of setting foot in Republican states). Also nice necro!

Yeah but Birmingham voted 85% for Biden. Although this happened. I'm actually wearing Alabama socks right now.

But a flight from your nearest international airport to Birmingham is actually a lot cheaper than I expected...and totally worth it! In fact it's not even double Minneapolis to Birmingham prices!
