Hersey is a town in Aroostook County, Maine with a population of 83. Jorgensen got 79% of the 42 votes. Any other towns won by a third party?

Did Trump really not get a single vote here? I see it on the NYT map but it just feels incorrect.

It might be an error; I've seen them before.

If that's true, then Maine has really gone off the deep end with weird voting this election.

Looks like the town voted 68% Trump in 2016; willing to bet it's just an error and Trump got 79% of the vote here in 2020. I'm not sure of any other towns where a third-party candidate won with a majority/plurality, but it's probably virtually none just due to the drop in third-party voting.

The election returns in the Bangor Daily News

https://bangordailynews.com/2020/11/07/news/aroostook/aroostook-county-swung-hard-for-trump-lets-break-down-the-numbers/

Show Trump 78.6%, Biden 19%, Jorgensen 2.4%.

If these are from 42 votes shown in official returns, then it would

be Trump 33, Biden 8, Jorgensen 1.

A column was skipped in the official returns.

However the erroneous results are used in determining the number of total votes for Aroostook County.

79% for the libertarian candidate and zero votes for Trump? Packing my bags to move there right now.

I had apparently contacted the Maine elections commission, and forgotten that I had.

I got an e-mail that said they had contacted Hersey, and Hersey said they had made a data entry error. The elections commission said they would inform the governor, and that they would correct their website.

This forum was spun off from a website called Dave Leip's Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections.  There you'll discover such maps as this:

I didn't realize that much of Maine was unpopulated.

I think Maine is a weird state politically in that it's still fundamentally conservative and would go for a Republican Party that was a Rockefeller Republican/Libertarian coalition but since that doesn't exist they settle for a combination of split ticket voting and independents.
