The county certified on Wednesday
Biden        Trump      (Swing towards Democratic compared to 2016)
Buellton   54.92%   41.96%   +11.23%
Carpinteria   71.62%   25.65%   +4.18%
Goleta   71.62%   25.34%   +5.98%
Guadalupe   66.83%   29.88%   -14.45%
Lompoc   56.14%   40.64%   +4.55%
Santa Barbara   78.81%   18.65%   +4.25%
Santa Maria   56.85%   40.50%   -0.84%
Solvang   53.05%   44.19%   +10.07%
Unincorporated 58.37%   38.64%   +1.06%

Traditionally, Santa Barbara County has been polarized with coastal areas voting Democratic and inland areas voting Republican. This is the first year that a Republican Presidential nominee has failed to win a single incorporated city in the county. Danish inspired Solvang narrowly voted for Trump 48-47 in 2016 but it flipped this year to a decisive Biden win. Most of the GOP strength is left in unincorporated Orcutt and portion of the Santa Ynez Valley (Santa Ynez, Los Olivos, Los Alamos, Ballard).

As for GOP trends Trump did perform better in heavily Hispanic and rural Guadalupe similar to how he improved in other Hispanic areas.

Aye I live in Santa Barbara County! I'm surprised how little very heavily Hispanic Santa Maria swung to Trump. My guess by 2024 is that the Dem nominee could win SBC at or around with 70% vote.

The fact that SB Republicans keep thinking they can beat Salud Carbajal will never not be funny.

Caldwell got his ass kicked by Carbajal lmao. Caldwell ran like he was in Idaho rather than in Coastal California.

While not incorporated, how did Montecito vote?

72.37% Biden, 24.69% Trump are the numbers for the Montecito Sanitation District corresponds to the boundaries of the Montecito CDP.
