Having family dinner with all my extended (mother) family and waiting for midnight together. I guess that 3 would be closest to that. I'm guessing this is not something that happens in the U.S.? Here is not uncommon to go out to a party or something but the standard expectation is basically family dinner till midnight and then family lunch/dinner tomorrow.

Also, personally these are basically the only dates of the year when I have actual dinner instead of once

My plans WERE to go to a great little Italian place (Ricardo Trattoria, highly recommend for my Chicago crew) in Lincoln Park and then get drinks at the little bar inside the Waldorf Astoria after.  Possibly then to meet up with my friend who's a regular at a bar in River West so we have a guaranteed spot always.

Alas ... I have COVID, lol.  So, I have been in my 800-square-foot apartment for four days now. :/

Poor Lord Thomas having to slum it in an 800 sq ft apartment!

I used to literally live a block from the Waldorf, lol.

I don't have any. I'll be on the Internet, watching some television, and having dinner. And then I work on New Year's Day, just like I did last time.

Keeping an eye on my parents, in the wake of a couple of bereavements. Siblings are either busy or awol. Mostly reminiscing over a glass of wine.

Not the most festive Hogmanay I’ve had, but we’ll make it work.

I love my apartment, very lucky!  But sharing it with two people for a week and never leaving makes it seem plenty smaller.  And that area was a bit busy for our tastes, I decided to actually and unapologetically become Lord Thomas once I got a job and move a tad north. Wink

I'm not WASPy enough for that.  The real move is south to Western Avenue in Beverly.

I have little kids, so my New Year's plans are usually reading a book until the fireworks stop Tongue

I should've drank a bit BEFORE coming here because that's the only way I can tolerate rap which this place is playing in the background.

I had Udon for lunch, and I finished up some work.

I'll go up to the local park to watch the fireworks once it's midnight.

Going to a worship night, so really none of the above.  I'm really excited for it.  The girl who planned it has hosted four throughout the month of December (I went to 3 of them, all of which were really great), but this is the biggest one of all the worship nights.

Worship night was wonderful.  We prayed, worshipped, and occasionally fellowshipped from 7 PM until 1 AM and took Communion at midnight to ring in 2022, followed by New Year's hugs to all our friends.

Not to further derail the thread, but Orso’s is a great Italian option if you all haven’t been. Classic haunt in Old Town

Happy new year to all. Celebrated at a private party with some friends.
