The Foreign Policy School Test

Wilsonian

You scored 9 Force, 9 Institutions, and 3 Ideals!

You are a true believer, a wild-eyed zealot. You aren't afraid to use force to achieve your ends, though you'd prefer to use the UN, and you truly believe that a country's foreign policy should follow its ideals. You mean well, but know this: the road to Baghdad is paved with good intentions. You are most likely young and idealistic, and you probably trust whatever your leaders say. After all, they would never lie to you.

You Scored as Neo-libertarian

Neo-libertarians may be somewhat influenced by and come from the ranks of neoconservatism, at least in terms of foreign policy. Neo-libertarians tend to differ from other libertarians in terms of their support for various foreign interventions and wars. Neo-libertarians and paleo-libertarians tend to strongly disagree about foreign policy, with the paleo-libertarians advocating isolationism and the neo-libertarians advocating international military adventurism and free trade, or at least free trade agreements.

All of these quizzes are too serious, now it's time for something a bit more humorous.

HelloQuizzy.com: The Economic School of Thought Test

Chicago Libertarian

15 Keynesian, 62 Chicago, 46 Austrian

Like the Friedmanite, you value the private sector's strength for providing prosperity; however, you also show at least trace signs of the "Austrian School." It is likely that you enjoy economics, have accepted the current framework (a Federal Reserve, at least moderate trade regulation, etc.) as a "given", but basically see the market as self-maintaining. You also likely believe in a sufficient amount of economic freedom to say you at least somewhat empathize with libertarianism.

Cosmolibertarian

63 Cosmotarianess!

You got to this point either by answering this quiz in a rather "establishment" manner or by taking it high on crack.  Either way, you are a cosmolibertarian.  You like your drugs, your whores, your cultural degeneracy, and your cocktail parties.  You like a faction of the major parties in your politics, and support it religiously.  You like to have your cake and eat it too - so long as the cake is provided by the government, but only available to you. ;-)

Highest ranking dimension: Individualist

You believe in the right of an individual to "be themself" in thought and deeds. You may have felt that what the country really needs is a politician with the nerve to tell people when it comes to controlling others, they should mind their own business. This may be because you enjoy a diversity of experiences and don ’t get offended easily. It may also be because you’ve seen people be persecuted. Others may disagree with you because they feel a right to protect what they see as community values. When politicians of your type make mistakes it is often because they underestimate people’s need for sta bility and safety.

Second highest ranking dimension: Small Government

You believe in a government that keeps order but otherwise stays out of the way. You may have felt that what the country really needs is a government with the courage to take on some of the "sacred cows" of government spending. This may be because you have been irked by how much you pay in taxes. It may also be because you feel that excessive government support programs reward those with no initiative. Others may disagree with you because they see some people as having the system stacked against them. When politicians of your type make mistakes it is because they find it difficult to maintain the "tough love" approach when their friends and supporters ask for help.

Combined statement:

Based on your answers, you would prefer a state for pioneers, innovators and rugged individualism.

(My Autocratic/Democratic score was tied, so I'll show both possible results)

DSIRW - Anti-Nationalist

Description

Not anarchists but something like it, anti-nationalists are sincerely disappointed by the current political world order. These thinkers care much more about quality of life than they do about patriotism, and are likely willing to make do with far less centralized/state power, if it makes empowering the individual more likely. Anti-nationalists take a transformative view of government, favoring anarchism or democratic reform. They are likely to develop plans for a new world order?.

Dimensions

This personality type combines these five perspectives
democrat,small state, individualist, rationalist, wide focus

Likes and dislikes

like:

* the “wisdom of crowds”.
* less interference in the free market
* not accepting limits to the upper end of their success
* competition, and facing challenges
* quality of life
* governments working from a set of logical rules.

dislike:

* being bound by scriptures, loosely defined rights, or old conventions.
* single issue politics
* a program of incremental changes.
* temporary fixes.
* identity politics
* territorial behavior

Philosophy: Independence Democrat

Alternate Nicknames:

*Post-Nationalists (like Postmodern Politics)

ASIRW - Smithian

Description

Followers of Adam Smith, the author of Wealth of Nations and the lesser known The Theory of Moral Sentiments are fiscal conservatives with a drive for reform - less tolerant of inequality?, pork barrelling and monopolists.

Dimensions

This personality type combines these five perspectives
authoritarian,small state, individualist, rationalist, wide focus

Likes and dislikes

like:

*  the “wisdom of experts”.
* understanding how nations and civilizations go through stages of development like individuals do.
* advocating change at the national or international level
* governments working from a set of logical rules.
* people who "make do" on their own
* competition, and facing challenges

dislike:

* catering to special interest groups
* single issue politics
* fundamentalism
* worrying about being popular or fashionable.
* being accountable to community standards

Philosophy: Libertarian

Independence Democrat

Independence Democrat is a neologism for an overarching political philosophy which captures a number of less comprehensive political philosophies including anarchism, anarcho-syndicalism, left libertarian. All of these theories envision a minimal state, possibly one whose traditional boundaries have been radically reconfigured, combined with a prevailing egalitarianism.

Libertarian

A libertarian is a supporter of libertarianism.

Wow, you've become a lot more moderate recently.

I think the US election and the 2012 forum pushed me to the right originally. Tongue
Now I'm slowly drifting back to my moderate roots.

It's more economics I've moved leftwards on, I'm still the same on foreign and social policy.

Yeah, I'm not surprised. I would expect most people outside of the U.S. to be more moderate than you were on economics. Tongue

Political Philosophy quiz

Conservative/Progressive score: 7
You are a social moderate. You think the progressive movement is overall well meaning, but sometimes it goes too far. On issues like abortion and affirmative action, you see the negatives of both extremes on the issue. You probably value religion, but at the same time you think it should still stay separate from the government

Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 2
You're a Capitalist Purist. You believe that the market should be completely free, and that the invisible hand of the market will make sure that the people get what they want and will do it in the most efficient way possible. You believe in small government, less taxes, and more privatization.

Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 3
You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism.

Pacifist/Militarist score: 10
You're a Militarist. You believe that since the United States has so much power in the world, it has a responsibility to keep the world safe. You think that if the US does not exert its power in the world, it may eventually lose its power, and that we can not look weak in the face of terrorists, and must take them out where they live.

Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Libertarian
