The law sucks, and it is so convoluted, that it is often not followed, which makes it even worse, and then some of the county BOE's are run by incompetent (and sometimes lazy who just dial it in) partisan hacks (some part time positions), so the partisan checks and balances often collapse. But it does generate a lot of legal fees for my guild. Ha! In my next life assuming things do not improve, I want to be an election lawyer in NYS.

I have watched some of this myself up close and personal.

New York doesn’t have valid elections, they should all be voided and re-done in a few months with federal management.
