An Even Better Proposal would be to allow voters to give their toes to private firms with ideological leanings the voter identifies with. In exchange for paying for the voting process, the firm will exercise voting rights on the behalf of the voter who sold their vote.

Okay, I've let this sit dormant for a long time while things worked themselves out. However, we do need to do something on this eventually.

I will note that federal legislation on this matter has now Passed and is awaiting Sestak's signature. Further, L.C. 10.4 as previously passed is now unenforceable pursuant to Ninja0428 vs Region of Lincoln.

Given various concerns expressed upthread, I do not support passing the 10 week proposal currently in the bill, and I suspect a majority of the current council feels the same.


There are a few things we can do here:

1. Come up with some amendment to this that has majority support
2. Move to a final vote on the current 10 week proposal, and vote it down.
3. Amend this legislation to simply formally repeal L.C. 10.4, in light of the ruling and the Passed federal legislation.
4. Just table this thread entirely at the motion of Chancellor AGA.

What would people prefer here?
