In our defense, SirWoodbury's continued presence on this forum is a mass personal attack on all of our brain cells.

The chair informs the Senator that the rules do care...

Sorry, felt like an Al Gore moment was appropriate. Tongue

Jackson is probably the best chance we have, but I still wonder if running for this seat in a possible Republican year instead of against Tillis in 2020 is the right move for him. It might actually be a wash.

I actually think the Warnock model might be the better bet here tbh.

It's not an R yr, it's a neutral cycle and in a Neutral cycle NC goes R

Way to early to be sure of this.

I am sure due to fact that NC went R in 2020 and we won the PVI by 3.1% and NC and OH are wave insurance states

I am referring to the nature of the cycle.

Yeah this honestly, I was never enthusiastic about Jackson to begin with, and have been rooting for Cheri Beasley or Anita Earls this whole time, to try the base first approach of Warnock.

It's gonna be hard for any AA to mount a competetive campaign in WI, PA and NC except for GA, due to fact it's a midterm and Prez coattails doesn't apply to Midterms.  If it was a Prez Election it would be different, Jackson is a great candidate and can win a GE against Walker or Pat McCrory

NELSON, Fetterman and Jackson should easily win their primaries and. Should Ds get 53/54 seats, AA would be secured in DC Statehood

Should Democrats just throw in the towel on any remotely competitive race next year?

Of course not. I just believe that it will take a lot to overcome the likely national environment.

I definitely can see now D's winning WI, PA, NC, GA and losing NH for 52 seats losing NH since Hassan voted against the minimum wage, of Sununu runs he will beat Hassan, but we can still win 52 seats with or without her

One day, the Senate will just consist of 100 astronauts, & it'll be a glorious day for America indeed.

In a 52/48 Senate, I can see D's winning NC and GA and Hassan losing to Sununu, Hassan did herself no good by voting against minimium wage.

Luckily we have Fetterman not Keyenatta whom will clinch the Senate for us

Jackson is wildly overrated.  It's a shame Janet Cowell hasn't shown any interest in a political comeback--she's probably the best NC Democrats could do.  I also think Wayne Goodwin, Deborah Ross, and even Heath Shuler deserve some attention.  And Josh Stein, of course, but he seems intent on running for governor.

Edit:  Two other names come to mind:  Mark Davis and Cheri Beasley.  On further reflection, I think Cheri Beasley is probably the best candidate NC Dems could run.

Lol Jeff Jackson isn't overrated, Tom Nelson, Fetterman and Jackson have the most money to win an expensive GE against the Rs and  easily win their primarues

If we get 52 seats and keep the House, D's will get DC Statehood and have two AA Senators

But again, just like Rs are in denial about Biden Approvals as even Joe Scarborough said it will be a D year in 2022,/D's are in denial about Fetterman and Jackson

Jackson, Tom Nelson and Jackson will easily win their primarues, they have the most money

He's great, but the Warnock model relies in part on a rare Loeffler-tier Republican.

It's a shame these AA candidates didn't run in ,2020, when CUNNINGHAM was running, now they want to run when we have Jackson

The same  in PA, where were all these candidates in 2016 when we got stuck with Kate McGinty instead of Sestak

Does anyone know what the racial breakdown of the NC Democratic primary electorate usually is?
