Apparently Sittenfield is the third member of the Cincinnati City Council to be arrested on Federal Corruption charges this year.

No one on here talks about it, but Ohio Democrats are honestly just as incompetent as Florida Democrats.

It's more that when a former swing state stops being a swing state, the party that suddenly can't win statewide anymore flounders.  Examples:

FL Dems
OH Dems
AR Dems
VA GOP
NJ GOP
CA GOP

The CO GOP and IA Dems are handling it better than expected, so far.  The AZ and TX GOP seemed to be on the verge of this, but they did just hold the legislatures and Trump did better than expected in both so IDK.

You actually have stronger state parties in some truly safe states where they know they have to differentiate themselves to win downballot, e.g. KY, KS and LA Dems (though IDK how much of that was just blind luck with JBE being a star), GOP throughout New England.

Brown won 2018. Nelson didn't.

Brown wouldn’t have won if he had faced the popular incumbent millionaire R governor with full backing of the NRSC/SLF who would go on to outspend him 3-to-1 and systematically destroy his crossover appeal.

Begs the question

Nelson vs DeSantis? Who wins, and this assumes that Putnam faces Gillum.

Kasich vs Brown? Who wins?

My instinct is to say Nelson +2-3, and Brown +<1

Idiot, you can't destroy crossover appeal of #WorkingClassHero Sherrod Brown he would have have accused his wealthy opponent of being an anti workers plutocrat and would have won in a landslide.

Clearly a coincidence that the three candidates who were vastly outspent and clobbered on the airwaves earlier and more relentlessly than most other candidates (Rosendale/Morrisey/Nelson) ended up losing. I guess it’s just because of the partisanship of WV/MT/FL.

Now TBH McCaskill had a big spending advantage and she still lost
