Would he “pull a Kasich” and speak at Biden’s virtual convention? Would he “pull a Romney” instead?

Well, McCain supposedly had a good relationship with Hillary Clinton back in the Senate, yet didn't (publicly, at least) support her or Trump. I expect that the same would happen with Biden in 2020 even though they were purportedly even closer friends.

Assuming he never got cancer and remained healthy, John McCain I think switches over to the Democratic Party after the January 6 insurrection. He also would have easily voted in favor of both of Donald Trump's impeachments. As a Democrat, John McCain would be the favorite to win against Mark Brnovich in 2022, albeit by only a 10% margin (unlike Mark Kelly who probably lose by 5% against Mark Brnovich).

Yeah, he'd said that his 6th term was gonna be his last, so in no longer having to face any voters &/or especially a primary, switching parties a-la Grant Woods actually isn't implausible. After all, he'd already considered it during W.'s 1st term.

McCain was much more anti Trump then Romney, he would publicly endorse Biden and might speak at the DNC. A sitting Republican Senator endorsing Biden would give Biden a lot of good news coverage. McCain hated Trump more then Romney.

Shades of Zell Miller in 2004...

Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

Romney flirted with Trump on and off for the majority of the 2010s before ending up as a Trump opponent when the chips were down. McCain consistently hated Trump and what he stood for. I think McCain definitely goes Kasich/Zell Miller in 2020 rather than equivocating.

I’m not sure if he would have actually aligned himself with the Democratic Party, since I suspect he would probably have supported Kavanaugh & Barrett (just like Flake & Romney).

Random question, but do you know who ends up winning the Super Bowl in 2023?

Probably one of the 32 NFL teams. Hopefully, the winner surprises us.
