Here's the link to it look for some gems Phil Scott and Mitt Romney got a surprising amount of write ins https://electionresults.vermont.gov/Index.html#/federal

I’m kinda surprised Bernie only got 600 write-ins. WAY less than last time. Shows how much better unified the party was after this primary, I guess.

Also who is “Tusli Gabbard” LOL were they actually written like that?

Oh my god someone wrote in Hunter Biden. LOL whoever made a 2024 thread for him is vindicated!
Apparently, on Twitter people are saying it was a misspelling by whoever tabulated the votes not on the write-ins themselves still pretty funny tho the person who tabulated is is terrible at spelling wonder how they got such an important job

So I have a semi-serious question, Donald Trump received 3 write-in votes I see.

Official Vermont results say he he has 112,704 votes.

Did he receive 112,704 votes for president or 112,707?

Vermont ought to adopt RCV and permit voters to include 20 write-in votes. They'd still be holding drawings to decide whether to exclude Tony Danza or Judd Gregg first.

In Texas, write-in candidates for President must file, but since they must include the names of 38 elector candidates plus authorization it is almost like a petition. Texas also requires names of write-in candidates to be posted in each voting booth. On voting machines a virtual keyboard is used to enter names.

Strict spelling is not required, but when they are tabulating write-in votes they would first have to decide whether a vote for "Bidin" or "Bidet" was for Biden. If they agreed that it was they could program the tabulation to automatically count it. For one election there were pages of accepted spelling.

For true paper ballots they had to examine each ballot and decide if "BIDEN" and "biden" written in various scripts or scrawls was for Biden.

No one wrote Kanye in in Vermont cause Vermont was one of the few states where he made the ballot he got 1.26k votes

That's actually a bad argument since as your OP shows there was a write-in for Donald Trump and one for Jill Stein.
Its not an argument its a fact lol Jill Stein was not running this year and one person wrote in trump West made the ballot and got over a thousand votes in Vermont

Sorry I'm stupid as f!ck I though Jill Stein was the Green candidate again lmao

But still it's not something obvious that no one wrote Kanye in since Trump was on the ballot too and someone wrote him in regardless. Whatever.
Its all good haha no one knows who Howie Hawkins is I bet if you asked his wife she would be like who? Vermont is I think one of if not the only state where they count each write in and post it on their website so if someone wrote in Kanye their we would know.
Alabama is even better. Each precinct scrawls the write-in votes on a canvass report, and then the state prints PDFs of all of these. At least you don't have to decrypt each ballot.

If Vermont had a standard of voter intent it would be 112,707.

Vermont suspended their petition requirement for president, and had 21 candidates on the ballot. Maybe some voters could not find Trump.

What person wouldn't love the man who's trying to save us from the man who's trying to kill us? Smiley

Honestly the one that stands out to me the most is Vanellope von Schweetz, the animated character voiced by Sarah Silverman in Wreck-It Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet. That's just a really obscure reference for this sort of thing.

One person voted for “Biden Pence” and another voted for “Obama Harris”

At least we know Obama’s last name now.
