Seems pretty straightforward. Can I move to go to a final vote?

With no objection, Cao is recognized as sponsor.

Personally have no objection, but I'll allow it to be Cao's prerogative until after he posts advocacy.

Thank you, Ted. So a fairly simple change that ensures we have an active presence who can perform the duties of the Vice President at all times – since the position of VP does cause people to burn out, I think having someone on hand ready to step into the VP's shoes when needed will go some way towards fixing the recurring problem of VP inactivity. (Though I do have confidence that Ted will serve well and consistently.)

razze has motioned for a final vote – 24 hours to object.

While it's good to have one person as a back up plan, I would have gone maybe for more than one possibility in the case the back up is not available when it's time to step in the role.

There is always that eventuality – but if we take this to its logical conclusion (will we need a backup to the backup to the backup to the VP?) it's essentially spreading the powers of the VP around a multi-member committee. I see this as a purely preventative measure and expect that, when choosing a Deputy, we will try to pick a reasonably active user. They do still exist, after all.

Being prepared for a vacancy is good. I would maybe like more flexibility in the backup plan just in case, but not a reason to oppose this.
