73% of absentees returned in the district are Democratic and 7% are REP/CON, would expect Biden and AOC to win absentees with about 90% of the vote (45k absentees districtwide), so they're probably on pace to reach around 74-75% of the vote within the district.

Also one more thing- The Bronx is gonna swing a decent bit to the right this year. Hispanic gains are pretty uniform.

Not really true.

Arizona is the best example of this.

Actually Arizona proves my point?

Why isn't Biden winning Arizona by more?

Its because of Hispanics, look at Santa Cruz and Yuma. The Hispanic electorate is pretty small in Arizona anyway- whites still form the majority of D voters and they swung a decent bit D which easily masks any hispanic trend.

Orange county is almost finished and only swung 1 point D, Asian + hispanic trend counteracted the white trend.
Stop with the facts, you are interrupting my #woke minority coalition narrative!

Her and the "Justice Democrats" have no common sense so I am not surprised that she is running below par in her own district. I just read this article on Politico and Tlaib and the justice Ds are still talking about defending "defunding the police" and "socialism" https://www.politico.com/news/2020/11/11/rashida-tlaib-progressives-election-435877. Can these people just shut the f**k up and stop hurting the party?

They are hurting so many ordinary people through their tactless politics who have to pay the price by not getting DACA or better healthcare just because her ilk had to feel like edgelords embracing dump unpopular policies. Even if you believe in those things why would you not have the common sense to keep your mouth shut for now when you have literally 0 power to do anything about it and when those issues poll at 25% approval.

It is night and day difference between how Sanders is handing himself compared these justice Ds. I pray that the squad gets primaried out if they keep up with their reckless politics.

AOC isn't going to survive, she was meant to challenge Schumer, the voters don't want her to stay as Rep, they thought 2020, would redeem AOC and they would get a Supermajority Senate and fight Schumer in 2022, the only thing she did was cause Dems to have bad blood among themselves by supporting Markey over Joe Kennedy and D's not gaining more seats in the House.

AOC said this on Rachel Maddow/ D's will get a Supermajority Senate if Trump walked away from stimulus talks. Which would have allowed her to challenge Schumer in 2022, which didn't happen

Thank Goodness that AOCism isn't gonna last long, there is bad blood among D's between AA and Latte liberals still to this over Joe Kennedy v Market endorsement. She will be remembered for that

In much of Europe where there is proportional representation leading to coalitions, there are coalitions between the center right and the center left.

It would be nice if the never-Trump Republicans and other Republicans who voted for Trump but aren't insane could join with the Biden party while AOC and her fellow travelers started their own separate 'progressive' party.

Omar is a gaffe machine lol pretty funny how republicans dumped so much money in the district to still lose by +40 points
Also makes Secular Talk look ridiculous for saying Omar and Rashida boosted turnout in their districts and are therefore responsible for Biden carrying MN and MI and blamed Kasich for not being able to deliver OH. I like kyles takes policy wise but he really knows nothing about elections one of his most hilarious takes to me is when he said Clinton swept the southern primaries in 2016 "because that's where all the conservative and racists are" when you know its actually cause she overwhelmingly carried the black vote their lmfao

Speaking as a progressive, Omar does not represent us (not all of us, at least.)

You should really charge her rent for all the space she takes up in your head.

You started this thread about AOC, have more or less lost the argument, now are changing tack t avoid embarrassment. That's just sad.

Did GeneralMacArthur really bump this thread just so it can be swiftly converted from an anti-AOC thread to an anti-Omar thread?

And to think I actually enjoyed the intraparty unity around here between April & November 3

It is extremely telling that some in this thread are choosing to just attack the OP for posting numbers of how much Omar underperformed Biden in her own CD rather than actually addressing the underperformance.

Kamala Harris was very close to being the most recent time that a Republican won California.

If it is true that Omar underperformed by more than AOC, which looks likely, might it be the case that Omar's progressivism was not the reason she underperformed? I don't know why, it might be racism, antisemitism concerns, GOP smears, poor campaigning, or anything else, but it seems to me that if progressivism were to blame then one would expect the same underperformance across the board.

One of my favorite tidbits to come from this election is that the Legal Marijuana Now Party got nearly 10% of the vote in her district.

I'd love to post a meme mocking Gmac again for this fixative nonsense, but since I got infracted four times in this thread for speaking facts I'd best leave it alone. Peace ✌️

Also Omar is awesome, we really need to get over our collective allergy to any criticism of Israel or imperialism in general.

Because so much Dems, like you, have an irrational visceral hatred for her. Honestly I’m pretty sure that if you lived in her district, you would vote for whoever the R nominee is just to spite her and make her look bad.

You're talking about an 80% Biden district!! lol These people are not right-wingers at all since a bunch voted third party, maybe she's just toxic and too extreme for some people? Idk but to immediately go to racism and bigotry in one of the wokest districts in the country is too good.
