"Honestly, Sherry's got some good ideas that Democrats should listen to. He knows that we need to bring factories back, folks. It's a shame Kamala and the pill pushers own him. He really shouldn't listen to those people!"

Statement from the Kamala Harris campaign

Mike Lindell's suggestion that Vice President Harris "owns" another candidate in the race is outrageous and offensive.

We formally call on Mr. Lindell to drop out of the race.

Mr. Lindell, with all your talk about me, are you sure you don't have me confused with Representative Ocasio-Cortez?

@SherrodBrown: The suggestion that I am 'owned' by anyone else is an outrageous lie from a man who promoted a fake cure for COVID-19.

Turn 3 - July 2023

Democratic polls -
Vice President Harris - 55%
Senator Brown - 31%
Representative Ocasio Cortez - 14%

Republican polls -
Former Ambassador Haley - 36%
Former VP Pence - 33%
Mr. Trump Jr. - 17%
Mr. Lindell - 8%
Governor Noem - 6%

These polls are only for the announced candidates! If you still have not posted your announcement speech/first schedule, you will be included once you do so.

IN-GAME EVENTS

Bernie Sanders, dead at 82 following a heart attack

The Vermont Senator, Democratic presidential candidate and progressive icon Bernie Sanders has sadly passed away on June 13th following another heart attack, of much bigger proportions than the one he suffered in 2019. Many in the nation mourned him, with the President and many other politicians having kind words to say about the late Senator. Governor Phil Scott has yet to announce who will fill the vacancy. However, this could not have come at a worse time for the Democrats.

Srinivasan nomination fails, 49-50

The Democrats were really hopeful about this vote, as it looked as if they had enough votes to at least throw it to Vice President Harris as a tie-breaker. However, their plans were ruined by the death of Bernie Sanders, and with the vote held 2 days after, Srinivasan failed with 49 ayes and 50 nays. Both sides have had a lot to lose from this situation, with the Biden Administration failing to fill the seat and McConnell being weakened as Majority Leader, as only the forces of nature have prevented the liberal judge from getting the confirmation. Is a compromise possible?

"Very sad to hear about Bernie's passing. He was a good man, you know, honest guy. We didn't agree on a lot, but he had some good ideas on protecting our workers and bringing jobs back. Maybe the last honest politician. Sad to see him go."

Putting politics aside for a bit, Bernie Sanders dedicated his life to public service. I may not be into socialism but he still deserves respect for all the years he put into his political career! He was also Brave enough to challenge Hillary Clinton. Rest In Peace Senator Sanders

BREAKING - Syrian Civil War finally ends as the country returns under the control of Assad

The conflict which lasted more than 12 years is finally over as the last Kurdish forces were defeated near the Iraqi border and Turkey agreed to return the Northern lands it occupies to the Syrian government. Now, the pro-Russian dictator Bashar al-Assad is back in control of the country despite attempts by numerous rebel factions to oust him. However, the Biden Administration has so far refused to recognize the authoritarian regime and has no plans to do so in the future.

July 1, 2023

Meet Voters in Woodburn, Iowa (With Tom Harkin and Tom Vilsack)

Meet Voters in Lacona, Iowa (With Tom Harkin and Tom Vilsack)

Speech at Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa

It's time we fixed the college education system so that the wealthy and well-connected aren't the only people who go to college. A Harris Administration will push for free college for all students, and all student's families who make less than $250,000 a year.

Meet Voters in Norwalk, Iowa (With Tom Harkin and Tom Vilsack)

Meet Voters in Alleman, Iowa (With Tom Harkin, Tom Vilsack and Rob Sand)

July 2, 2023

Meet Voters in Windsor Heights, Iowa (With Tom Vilsack and Rob Sand)

Speech in Ankeny, Iowa (With Tom Vilsack)

With Justice Sirnivasan's rejection by the Senate, I feel it is finally time for me to unveil my list of potential Supreme Court nominees, either to replace Justice Breyer, or to fill a future vacancy.

They are:

1. Ninth Circuit Court Judge Jacqueline Nguyen
2. Former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates
3. Former U.S Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara
4. Ninth Circuit Court Judge Michelle Friedland
5. Former Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan
6. Federal Circuit Judge Kara Fernandez Stoll
7. Eleventh Circuit Court Judge Robin S. Rosenthal
8. Former President of the United States Barack Obama

Meet Voters in Woodstock, Vermont

July 3, 2023

Meet Voters in Ludlow, Vermont

Speech in Battleboro, Vermont

Bernie Sanders was leader for the ideals he fought for. That's the highest praise that you can give a politician. The person who replaces him will have some impressive shoes to fill.

Meet Voters in Hinsdale, New Hampshire (With Jeanne Shaheen and Chris Pappas)

July 4, 2023

Attend Fourth of July parade, Keene, New Hampshire

Speech at Alumni Field, Keene, New Hampshire (With Jeanne Shaheen and Chris Pappas)

On this anniversary of America earning it's freedom, we honor the sacrifices that we have made to get this far as a country. Hopefully we'll never have to make the sacrifices of people, materials, and resources that we have made to get this far as a country.

July 5, 2023

Speech at Keene State College, Keene, New Hampshire (With Jeanne Shaheen)

I'm not sure how I can describe the Republican Party other than as a Domestic Terrorism group. They hold the country hostage until they get their way, and seem to have no interest in Democracy at all. How is that consistent with anything other than a Domestic Terror group?

Meet Voters in Sullivan, New Hampshire (With Jeanne Shaheen and John Lynch)

Meet Voters in Richmond, New Hampshire (With Jeanne Shaheen)

July 6, 2023

Speech in Caribou, Maine

Republicans like to claim that they are the only party who will be tough on China. That's not true. Our trade imbalance with China is great, and China manipulates currency and trade to their benefit. That's not how free trade is supposed to work, and yet China signed a free trade agreement just a couple of years ago. The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership is basically another way for China to dominate it's neighbors. Under a Kamala Harris presidency, the United States will push for China's expulsion from the body for inhibiting free trade.

Speech in Presque Isle, Maine

While those on right focus on our border with Mexico, there is a significant amount of illegal immigration from Canada into the United States. The only reason Republicans focus on Mexico is racism, clear and simple. We don't care about people who cross the border from Canada, and we do from Mexico, is because Republicans flat out hate persons of color. It's really that simple.

July 7, 2023

Meet Voters in Wellfleet, Massachusetts

Meet Voters in Mashpee, New Hampshire

July 8-19

Fundraisers, New York, California

July 21, 2023

Presidential Debate, Atlanta Georgia (With Sherrod Brown)

July 21-30

Fundraisers, Texas, Florida

July 31, 2023

Meet Voters in McClellanville, South Carolina

Meet Voters in Awendaw, South Carolina

Meet Voters, Isle of Palm, South Carolina

Book Reading, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Goose Creek High School, Goose Creek, South Carolina.

BREAKING - Laura Sibilia, appointed to fill in vacant seat until the special election

Keeping his pledge to appoint a left-leaning independent if a Senate seat becomes vacant, Scott has appointed leftist State Representative Laura Sibilia to be a Senator for the next 6 months, until the special election. Sibilia has promised to caucus with the Democrats and has already guaranteed that she will not run in the special election.

Kamala hasn’t got a clue folks. She and Biden can’t keep life affordable for seniors and youths. You got families to feed and they’re laughing at you. They’re laughing at you! It’s awful stuff.”

What he did to your state, he’s now doing that to the whole country. We’re losing industry, timber, mining jobs like you wouldn’t believe. We’re shipping them over to India and China for pennies on the dollar. Then they give the money to Amazon so they can hire more ‘highly skilled’ foreign workers. It’s a terrible deal folks.

Now, no one likes toxic waste. Believe me, it’s nasty stuff. But you know, Kamala and Jay, they just ship the jobs overseas and the pollution continues to get spit out. The toxic waste goes into the air. It’s nasty stuff folks, really nasty stuff. The earth is getting dirtier each year and they’re selling us out while they ruin it! They should be in jail, honestly.

We’re gonna bring the jobs back, but they’re gonna be clean. You’ll have the best air and the cleanest water. We don’t want some corrupt keyboard typers polluting our country. It’s all gonna be beautiful folks.”

People all around the world come here because they want to be like us. It’s an amazing thing. We’re all Americans deep down. We gotta be proud about the place where we live. No one else is gonna do it for us!

People, we’re all Americans. No matter what Kamala or the media say, we’re brothers and sisters. We gotta take care of each other!”

July 6th:

“It’s terrible stuff people. The politicians in Washington, they can’t even agree on who should be a judge. What the hell is wrong with them?! People are dying out here and they can’t come to some kind of agreement over who should sit where and what kind of suit is the best? It’s insane folks, really insane. We have to end this nonsense immediately. I will go in there and end the shenanigans on day 1.”

July 7th:
--Drive to War, West Virginia
--Meet up with Franklin Finch (D-WV)

You don’t see the media reporting on our crowd size though. They’re always saying we’re so mean and rude and divisive. C’mon! Look at the love on display here. So much love, so much unity! We’re bringing the country together people! We’re bringing our country back!”

July 11th:
--Drive to Austin, Texas
--Attempt meetup with members of ‘Rooster Teeth Productions’; fail miserably
--Hold town hall outside Texas State Capitol

“The youths, the kids. They’re alright. They’re good people. They need to respect their elders, you know, but they need our help too. They gotta pay a hundred thousand dollars for a piece of paper because Kamala is shipping their jobs overseas like you wouldn’t believe. It’s awful stuff and they need our support. “A place called Hope. Kamala has completely forgotten about a place called Hope. It’s laughable. The Democrats, the politicians, the keyboard typers. They think that you folks are losers and suckers. They want to rob you of every last cent to fund China’s treasury or fill some asshole’s trust fund. We’re gonna stop that on day 1 folks.”

Now, I’m telling ya, we got to support everything President Trump did for this country. I’m gonna lead us back to that greatness. You know, you folks really stabbed Trump in the back four years ago. That was some disgusting stuff from your people at the decision desk. You outta be ashamed of that. I hope someone got fired!”

July 24th:
--Fly to Boca Raton, Florida
--Attend local synagogue
--Mix with local Republican leaders

“Jewish people are amazing folks. They’re great people. I love bagels. Under no circumstances can we slander them or make them feel lesser. We’re gonna be very strong on the radicals who hate them and on people like Kamala, who dislike them very strongly.”

We’re not doing that if I’m elected. On day 1, we’re bringing back wet foot, dry foot. Anyone who sets foot in the waters off of Havana gets to come to America. None of this halfway nonsense. We’re gonna help people escape tyranny, folks.”

FIRST DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE
Anderson Cooper - Good evening, I am Anderson Cooper and I will be moderating the first Democratic Presidential Debate here in Atlanta, Georgia. I am here with Vice President Kamala Harris and Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown. Candidates will give an opening statement, answer two specific questions, and give a closing statement. So, without further ado, let's start.

Specific Questions

To Vice President Harris -

1. Many Democrats are disappointed with the lack of legislative accomplishments by the Biden Administration during the last four years, claiming that they have been an wasted opportunity. What do you believe is the cause of it and what will you do differently shall you be elected?

2. People were shocked when at the beginning of the campaign you have called for a travel ban with Saudi Arabia, with many drawing parallels with the infamous Trumpist travel ban. How can you defend your position in front of a largely Democratic audience?

To Senator Brown -

1. Given that the Senate is likely to stay Republican even after November, what are your plans to prevent the same gridlock that happened during this Administration?

2. Given that the unfortunate departure of Senator Bernie Sanders has brought back memories of his campaign to many progressives, do you believe he would have made a better President than Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden and do you believe that your campaign is continuing his legacy?

FIRST REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE
Chris Wallace - Good evening, I am Chris Wallace and I will be moderating the first Republican Presidential Debate here in Erie, Pennsylvania. I am here with Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, Former Vice President Mike Pence, Businessman Donald Trump Jr., Businessman Mike Lindell and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. Candidates will give an opening statement, answer two specific questions, and give a closing statement. So, without further ado, let's start.

Specific Questions -

To Former Ambassador Haley -

1. Right now, you are the frontrunner for the Republican nomination. However, many conservatives feel like you do not truly share their values. Why do you think that is and what would you if you are nominated to convince them to vote for you?

2. Given the still ongoing debate in the country regarding the fairness of the 2020 election, do you believe that the election was rigged or that the Biden victory was legitimate?

To former Vice President Pence -

1. Polls from many companies, including Republican ones, show that so far your campaign has failed to impress and allowed other, more exotic candidates to capture the attention of the conservatives. Do you think those polls are accurate and does your campaign need changes?

2. Former President Trump, seemingly in an effort to help his son, has started regularly tweeting about you, attacking as a weak, useless Vice President who almost botched the COVID-19 response. What is your response to that?

To Mr. Trump Jr. -

1. Ted Cruz has endorsed you, despite your father attacking his parentage and family during the 2016 campaign. Do you believe you will be able to maintain better relationships with politicians than he did?

2. What are your specific solutions for cutting the deficit and paying the national debt?

To Mr. Lindell -

1. In the latest General Election polls, Harris and Brown are both leading against you by over 8%. How can you convince Republicans that voting for you does not mean another four years of a Democratic Administration?

2. Many voters are concerned about you promoting an unproven treatment against COVID-19 that ultimately was found not to work. What were you thinking and can the public trust you to handle things responsibly if another health crisis appears?

To Governor Noem -

1. Despite polls showing you polling well against Harris in the general, you only won in 2018 by 3.4% in South Dakota. Why was it so close in that very conservative state and what does it say about your electability?

2. You are running against a more experienced conservative with similar policy positions, namely Vice President Pence. Why are you a better choice?

Democratic Presidential Debate

It's a pleasure to be up on this stage again. I hope America gives me more of a chance than they did four years ago.

Quote
Many Democrats are disappointed with the lack of legislative accomplishments by the Biden Administration during the last four years, claiming that they have been an wasted opportunity. What do you believe is the cause of it and what will you do differently shall you be elected?

Frankly Anderson, the cause of the lack of legislative accomplishments by our administration has everything to do with the Republican Party. They are behaving like spoiled children, and continue to believe President Biden's victory in 2020 was not legitimate. In my opinion, they are behaving like the political wing of a terrorist organization, much like Sinn Fein does in Ireland.

Quote
People were shocked when at the beginning of the campaign you have called for a travel ban with Saudi Arabia, with many drawing parallels with the infamous Trumpist travel ban. How can you defend your position in front of a largely Democratic audience?

Fifteen of the nineteen hijackers on 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia literally exports terrorism throughout the world, and their regime, now under Mohammed Bin Salman, silences opponents no matter where they are. I'm not going keep people from entering the United States because of their race, ethnicity or religion, I'm going to keep people from entering the United States, because they are actually threats to our country. That's the job of the United States Government, to protect the people of the United States, not to establish some racist agenda.

I'd like to thank Senator Brown for joining me here, and I'd like to thank CNN for agreeing to moderate the debate tonight. It's been a pleasure to be here.

“Make America Great Again. Four short, beautiful words. Eight years ago, Donald Trump set out to take our country back from the forces that were killing it. They all hated him. The rich, the powerful, the corporations, the gun grabbers. They did everything they could to stop him. They bought Hillary Clinton, they crushed Bernie. It was an awful thing. Just as it looked like they were gonna win, Donald Trump managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. He beat them and their billion dollar swindle. For a brief but beautiful moment, our country was on the right track again.

Here we are, three years after the last election. After a whole lot of shenanigans and some backstabs from people like you, Chris, they forced him out of office. What a horrible moment for the country! He was a fighter, Trump was. Against the people that wanted to destroy America and extract every penny from her people. He knew that we needed to fight back and take back our country.

That’s why I’m on this stage Chris. I am here to be the voice of the folks. The people. They know our country is in a really bad spot right now. We got Kamala and Biden wrecking this nation like you wouldn’t believe. Our leaders, our politicians, they are owned by the rich, the corporations, and the politically correct keyboard typers. We have a nation run by pill pushers, corrupt politicians, and a whole zoo of frauds and posers. It’s laughable. We are being run into the ground by these people, it’s just sick.

I will restore the American Dream once and for all. It’s not gonna just be a dream, Chris. It’s gonna be a reality. We’re gonna bring jobs back, we’re gonna end the corruption and bad deals in Washington. All this division, it’s gonna go bye bye. And we’re gonna love this country. Because America, you know, it’s worth fighting for. And I guarantee you, some of the people on this stage don’t like this country, they don't love it. You can sense them pretty easily. We don’t need them. We need a fighter. We need a dealmaker. I’m the man for the job.”

Quote
1. In the latest General Election polls, Harris and Brown are both leading against you by over 8%. How can you convince Republicans that voting for you does not mean another four years of a Democratic Administration?

“Does anyone believe those numbers anymore? They had Trump down 10, 15, 20 points in 2016 and look what happened! They had him losing in a landslide last go around. These number people, they’re keyboard typers by any other name. They haven’t got a clue.

Look folks, we’re running our campaign very strongly. Very strongly. We will fight for every American and it’s gonna be amazing. We will win the election and we will win it by a lot. We will win and we will win and we will win. It’ll be beautiful stuff.”

Quote
2. Many voters are concerned about you promoting an unproven treatment against COVID-19 that ultimately was found not to work. What were you thinking and can the public trust you to handle things responsibly if another health crisis appears?

“When you’re in a bad situation, you know, a real bad situation, you throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks. The doctors and nurses did that with corona and so did I. It’s the scientific process, you know. You work it out. We came up with a treatment and it worked okay, but the doctors got a better one. That’s called science folks.

Now, we gotta be careful about the medicine too. The doctors are very smart people, but we can’t let the pill pushers and Pharma Men get to them. The doctors come up with some miracle drug and the Pharma people make them sell it for millions of dollars. It’s sick, absolutely sick stuff. And we’re gonna put a stop to the pill pushers once and for all.”

Closing Statement:

“This is a big campaign folks. Big, big campaign. We got to get everyone involved if we’re gonna beat the keyboard typers, the Corrupt Politicians, the Tech Bros, and the Pharma Men. Go out and tell your neighbor about me. About our campaign. Because this is a big beautiful movement. We’re working together to bring down Kamala and her corrupt, shady deals. We’re gonna end the bad deals, we’re gonna stop the corruption you see in DC. It’s all coming to an end. Talk to your family, your friends, your loved ones. Tell them that we’re on a mission to bring America back. We’re doing this folks. I believe in you!”

Sherrod Brown at the Democratic debate

"First of all I'd like to thank the Vice President for her attendance tonight and CNN for having us both on here. Tonight, you're going to see a debate of ideas, not personalities. The Vice President and I both want the best for this nation, and at the end of it all, even on our worst days, we are better than the best Republican.

We've had, for the last four years, a political party that has turned themselves into the party of gridlock. The party of no. Everything President Biden does, they do the exact opposite. One of their candidates is trying to stoke religious division by using the Vice President's parentage against her. That is just outrageous!

I'm running because we need to fix our economy. To start making the wealthiest people in this country pay their fair share. To stop these vast transnational companies from shipping jobs overseas. To protect our environment because we need to preserve the planet for our children. To protect our workers who are routinely left behind by the people at the top. And finally, to ensure that our party has a wide debate heading into November, because we are the Democratic Party. We welcome diversity of ideas. We are not a personality cult and we are not autocrats."

Quote
1. Given that the Senate is likely to stay Republican even after November, what are your plans to prevent the same gridlock that happened during this Administration?

"Our biggest weakness as Democrats is that we have let the Republican Party get ahead of us and control the narrative on almost everything. To hear the Republican party define the term socialist is to hear that anyone who thinks government should exist is a communist. We have got to start fighting back. Me personally, I like Eric Holder's saying: when they go low, we kick them.

That said, there are Republicans who do have some decency, and I believe we can work with them. Senator Romney has shown to be supportive of police reform. Senator Murkowski has shown to be supportive of broad education reform. We can work with Republicans on several issues. And lest we forget, much of our agenda polls well with the public. Americans support a higher minimum wage, trade protections and regulating Wall Street.

Again, going back to what I have said, we need to start fighting back against the Republican narrative machine. We need to hit back, and we need to hit back hard."

Quote
2. Given that the unfortunate departure of Senator Bernie Sanders has brought back memories of his campaign to many progressives, do you believe he would have made a better President than Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden and do you believe that your campaign is continuing his legacy?

"Senator Sanders was a great man. A man who single-handedly revived the left wing of American politics. Who started a progressive movement that continues to elect young stars like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Mondaire Jones among countless others to office across the country. His legact will be felt through them, as well as the ideas he has brought into the mainstream. Medicare for All, a $15 an hour minimum wage; just two positions that not so long ago, were considered pie-in-the-sky by many Democrats, are now ideas common to all Democrats.

I'm not here to relitigate the 2016 and 2020 primaries, and I will never lay claim to be the heir to Bernie's legacy. THe heirs to his legacy are the swathes of young progressives being elected to office all over the country, and it's not just the ones in Congress. Progressives have been elected in droves to school boards, city councils, county councils and others. In time, they will become Representatives. THey will become Senators. They will become Governors.

Bernie was a good friend, and a great man. We are more the poorer for his passing."

Reponses to VP Harris

"I don't think a travel ban is a good idea at all. We can't in one sentence say that we oppose a ban on Muslims entering this country, then propose a ban on Muslims when we're in power. It's not right.

The best way to reduce the influence of Saudi Arabia on this country is to reinforce our renewable enrgy infrastructure and achieve energy independence that way. If we can reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, then we will have no need to to cultivate a relationship with the Saudis. Now, the Vice President and I happen to agree that Saudi Arabia is one of the chief exporters of terrorist ideology; that's not the debate here. We have to ask ourselves whether we are going to reduce Saudi influence responsibly, or go at it like a bull in a china shop."

"Once again, I want to thank the Vice President for being here and CNN for having us on. As I said at the start, this was an exchange of ideas. Vice President Harris and I may disagree on several issues, but we agree on the end goal: to build a more equal union."

Opening Statement: I would first like to thank Fox News for hosting this debate and my fellow candidates for attending. We are at a turning point in America's history. Right now we have an administration which rejects America's place as the greatest nation on Earth. They seek to tear all we have built as a people. They have bowed down to our adversaries across the world. They have accepted riots and chaos on the streets. Well, America I'm here to offer you a better choice. I am running because I want to restore America's Promise. We need to bring our country together and let people be united. We need to continue to serve as a beacon of democracy for the world. We need to create a nation where anyone feels like they can safely and securely raise a child. That's America's Promise and I'm willing to fight for it. Thank you.

1. Right now, you are the frontrunner for the Republican nomination. However, many conservatives feel like you do not truly share their values. Why do you think that is and what would you if you are nominated to convince them to vote for you?

Well Chris, I don't know if that's exactly the case. I think many people might just not know me yet. I haven't been a flamboyant media personality like some of my opponents, I've been actually doing my job. But when you look at my positions on the issues, you will see I'm a pro-life, pro-gun, pro business conservative. Those are the values I believe in, I stood up for them as governor, I stood up for them as ambassador and they are the values I'll stand up for as your president of the United States. For my opponents to suggest anything else is completely absurd.

2. Given the still ongoing debate in the country regarding the fairness of the 2020 election, do you believe that the election was rigged or that the Biden victory was legitimate?

It depends on what exactly you're asking there. I do believe that Joe Biden won the states he won, but that doesn't mean there was zero voter fraud like the media says. Biden received many of his votes from policies like ballot harvesting and universal mail-in. These policies are extremely susceptible to fraud as even many Democrats would admit. As president I will push for and sign bills that ban these practices so we can ensure our elections are  completely free and democratic.

Closing Statement: As the only person on this stage with experience as an ambassador and governor, I am by far the most qualified person on this stage. I can work with our allies, while securing a better life here at home. If you didn't know me before tonight I hope you've been convinced by what I had to say. If you want to support a woman who believes in standing up for America's Promise, then please go to Nikki2024.com and join us.

CNN poll - Who won the Democratic debate?

Senator Brown - 63%
Vice President Harris - 37%

According to pollster Frank Luntz, the performance of Kamala Harris was nothing short of disastrous, as many people saw her points as incoherent, disagreed with her position of the travel ban and thought she was taking the nomination for granted while Brown was perceived as more competent and, interestingly, more electable.

OOC - Obviously these debates will have a modest effect on polling, just like IRL, and are just added to spice things up a bit.

2023 Races for Senate and Governorships
VERMONT SENATE SPECIAL ELECTION - Phil Scott (R) vs Rebecca Holcombe (D)

Following the death of progressive icon Bernie Sanders and the appointment of leftist independent Laura Sibilia who has said she will not run for re-election, Governor Phil Scott has decided to run for the seat himself, being the only candidate putting it in play for the Republican Party. However, backlash against Mitch McConnell and extreme reluctance to give him another Senate seat make this race very, very competitive between Scott and Democratic nominee Rebecca Holcombe

RCP Average -
Holcombe - 50.2%
Scott - 49%

Kentucky Gubernatorial - Andy Beshear (D) vs Michael Adams (R)

Popular Governor Andy Beshear seems likely to win this race against Secretary of State Michael Adams, who has tried to tie this race to the national climate in this red state, so far without success.

RCP Average -
Beshear - 53.1%
Adams - 45.2%

Louisiana Gubernatorial - Jeff Landry (R) vs Dartanyon Williams (D)

The race to succeed the term-limited Governor John Bel Edwards is on, and this has been a top GOP target for years. However, surprising rising star Dartanyon Williams has turned this race into a true toss-up against the uncharismatic establishment figure Jeff Landry.

RCP Average -
Williams - 49.4%
Landry - 48.9%

Mississippi Gubernatorial - Tate Reeves (R) vs Mike Espy (D)

Perhaps the only 2023 race where one can be pretty sure of the outcome, Governor Reeves is leading in this very conservative state against Mike Espy, who is viewed as a perennial candidate at this point after losing twice to Cindy Hyde Smith.

RCP Average -
Reeves - 53.9%
Espy - 46.2%
