Biden is seriously appointing Cedric Richmond as a senior advisor? I knew he wasn't going to be serious with combating climate change, but selecting an overt advocate for the fossil fuel industry is as heinous as it gets.

great news! We need fossil fuels!

Which would be the better choice for Secretary of Labor, Marty Walsh, or Andy Levin?

I don't care but it has to be Walsh because we cannot afford anyone coming out of the house.

I'd disagree with you on the principle, but you are right about Levin. Going into 2020, his seat was D+4, so it probably would flip in a Special Election.

So his senior staff is just people doing the things they did in campaign for him and his old VeeP staff.

So like every other president’s senior staff.

Well this would be unexpected but also a pick I'd totally be behind:

Eh I’ve seen Yang floated for a cabinet spot, and if anyone has to be in commerce he’s far from the worst. It’d be a decent fit for him

Yang could be an interesting pick. While he's not presidential material, Commerce he'd be ok at the Commerce Dept. Yang also brings some diversity to the cabinet after Biden made his intention to have an admin looking like America clear.

I'm 100% sure that Biden will have a diverse cabinet regardless of whether he picks Yang or not lol.

That's honestly pretty cool. UBI is going to be increasingly necessary, especially with the pandemic, so having Yang in charge of Commerce is a good move.

All this speculation is pointless if the Democrats don't win both Georgia runoffs. McConnell will be the one picking the Cabinet in that scenario.

Marsha Blackburn and Tom Cotton were both on the Hugh Hewitt Show yesterday, and both said they don't expect that a Republican Senate would be very likely to confirm Susan Rice to any job requiring Senate confirmation:

Republicans: We don’t want any extremists in the cabinet
Also Republicans: Judy Shelton should be in the Fed Board

Tomasini and Ricchetti are "italian"?

Ricchetti is Italian-American, Annie Tomasini doesn't look "stereotypically Italian" (she's blonde and blue-eyed), so T. might be her married name.

Richetti is Italian-American. Not sure about Annie Tomasini.

There are Italians with blonde hair and blue eyes lol. For most Italian-Americans, their ancestry comes from Sicily and Southern Italy where the people generally having tanner/darker skin and darker-colored hair (though, there was a Viking/Norman conquest of Sicily). However, Italians from Northern Italy generally have lighter/paler skin and lighter colored hair.

I don't know if Annie Tomasini is married to an Italian-American but it would not be surprising if Tomasini is her birth name.

Yes I'm well aware of that which is why I wrote "stereotypically Italian" rather than just Italian, but the fact that she looks WASPy (and it's not just about hair/eyes) obviously increases the chance that it isn't her birth name.
