He's going to be a lameduck from day one, he's not going get his prefered cabinet picks, he's not going to get anything done with a narrow house majority and a 52-48 R majority in the senate, no court packings, no DC/PR Statehood. The Supreme Court is 6-3 conservative, they're going to dismantle the ACA, also the Democrats are going to get slaughtered in 2022/off-year elections.

The Democratic party is also going go in a state of civil war with radical leftists in the one side, and centrists on the other, now that Trump is not POTUS anymore/for now.

Then 2024 happens where Rs will have a favorable map for the senate, starting out with 3 automatic pickups (OH, MT, WV) and more toss-up races for pickings, possibly putting Rs with a 60 seat majority.

Enjoy it while it lasts!

Here's what I think happened.

Trump did to Democrats what Newt Gingrich did to Republicans. Created a high-propensity voting base who is no longer going to stay home during Democrat midterms. Remember, far more Republicans showed up in 2006 and 2018 than Democrats did in 2010 and 2014.

If the ACA is dismantled things will not go well for Republicans. Health care is a signature Democratic issue and taking away people's health care would greatly harm Republicans.

Do you expect that today's Democrats will be more energized to vote in 2022 than during Obama's years?

I think Trump turned out a lot of apolitical people who got swiped into Trump mania and QAnon. Without him, they won’t show up.

Lol the Senate is at 48/48, both GA runoffs will determine the control of the US Senate, Biden, Abrams and Obama are going back to GA to campaign for Warnock and Ossoff

51/49 Senate is still within our grasp with Leader Schumer, this is R talking point that both GA runoffs are Tilt R but not when GA has a hammer lock in AA from Atkanta

I think that's probably true, including in presidential years. I don't believe that people like Hawley will come close to recreating the enthusiasm Trump stirred up in his voters, but we'll have to wait and see won't we

Where does Sir Woodbury get 52/48R Senate from,  MSN said both sides have 48 Senators until Jan 6th where GA runoffs are decided, he's making up his own numbers, I guess

Pretty embarrassing that Republicans lost to a demented old man who hid in his basement all year and despite screaming about socialism and riots, America still rejected your party because of what a sh*t job you guys do.

Now the 4th election in a row where you only won 46-47% of the vote. You got massive turnout and still lost, and your party has a negative net favorability rating for what, 12-15 years straight now? And still 32 years since your last successful President, you want it to keep going?

Your party and your candidate were so hated that you got whole cities to dance in the street celebrating your defeat.

All you guys can do now is cope and try to drive the country into a depression (again) out of spite because of how much you hate this country and 65% of the people in it.

he's not going get his prefered cabinet picks

Assuming the Senate does remain with the GOP, I don't think they will torpedo the cabinet picks.  It really doesn't happen that often unless the person is really unqualified or has some legal or other issues.

Posting in this thread to speak to the mods. Please lock this garbage. Sir Woodbury is having a temper tantrum because his god emperor lost, and is now relegated to being a one term failure, unlike Barack Obama. Democrats can say they defeated Donald Trump, but Republicans never defeated Barack Obama, and it makes Sir Woodbury so angry. There's no need for all of us to be subject to his unhinged, sore loser hatemongering. Please delete this thread, many thanks.

I mean he's coping but he isn't completely wrong depending on the Georgia runoffs
