Ok, so I haven't posted on this board for months.

Biden is president-elect, yet I come on here and numerous dems are treating 2020 election as some sort of loss for dems. wtf?

who cares about downballot? Nobody remembers presidential election years by what happens in house and senate.

The dems won the 2020 election, end of story.

Smith’s district is just too Biden for Garcia to have a chance

Garcia losing would be very very surprising, considering how well the gop has done nationally in house elections

In fact, as results were coming in in east coast house districts, I thought for sure Garcia would be called victor as polls closed

Why is he losing?

I genuinely don't know what I'm talking about, but since this recent drop was from Ventura county, isnt this semi-good news for Smith? There's plenty out from Los Angeles that could help her retake the lead.

Not sure. I imagine the race is in recount territory

It is insane to me that Garcia isn’t running away with this, despite the repubs doing very well nationally in house races.

What happened here?

Why aren’t they calling CA39 for young Kim?

She is barely losing the LA county ballot dumps, and her lead is over 4K

There just isn’t enough vote out there for Gil

the california democratic party should be absolutely embarrassed at some of these results.

trump running 5 points ahead in LA than in 2016?

OC trending R?

Losing a bunch of districts won in 2018?

California Democrats need to run Asian-American women in these districts in 2022. They risk allowing Kim and Steel to get entrenched by solidifying the Vietnamese, Chinese, and Korean bloc votes without Trump as an anchor.

That's....really not how those groups vote in that area (aside from Vietnamese-Americans).

honestly not so sure anymore.

The gop surge with the asian vote was absolutely real. probably across all groups of asians, too.

now the question is: was this 2020 specific or are we seeing real trends?

the riots didn't help, nor did the covid restrictions.

How did dems do in that Kansas district that was freakishly close in special election in mid 2017?

that isn't good enough.

It angers me so much that mike Garcia is going to lose

His district is barely barely barely more blue than young Kim and Michelle Steele’s and he is a much stronger candidate

What happened??

If the GOP fails to unseat Brindisi, then I think you can call the house elections overall successful for the dems. They kept CA25 and Ny22, and didn’t lose where they weren’t expected to

It’s over for smith

Not only is Ventura not done counting, which will further pad Garcia’s lead, but she would need a margin out of LA dumps that she hasn’t gotten before.

As the days go on, it really seems like the dems didn’t do that bad in the house

They didn’t lose any seats that were unacceptable

A vote dump from kern county goes 56/43 for cox.

pretty sure he only needed 55%.

I know specials are impossible to use to measure future results but was Garcia doing so awfully earlier in the summer a sign of the coming trouble in these california seats?

How did Garcia do awful?

Sorry I meant Smith

I was thinking of this earlier.

Was Garcia’s special election win an early sign that CA seats were in play?

Wasserman now saying tenney lead is 106, not 75

2k ballots remain to be counted
