If the urban/rural divide is as stark as last time, I fear for our country. I find that it is clear that Trump has a very energized base (I know, not as much as the Democrats), but I do not think we have had such a rabid fanbase that worships a nominee as Trump lose. How are they going to react to his potential loss? How will their views of America, Texas (if Biden wins there), and the world change if he loses? His fans truly believe with all their heart that he is winning Tuesday, and may become awestruck if he loses. (Like us Hillary supporters last election). Will they exclaim that "America is lost"?

I think they will find another person to rally behind in 2024.

Might be Tucker Carlson, Tom Cotton, Ted Cruz, or a Trump spawn (provided they don't end up behind bars). That candidate will probably end up losing.

Probably a lot will flee the country if the Supreme Court on the off chance does the right thing and gives the election to Joe Biden. Most will likely go to Russia, Saudi Arabia, Israel, North Korea, Brazil, Costa Rica, the Phillippines, or one of the Catholic theocratic countries in Europe (Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Poland, or Slovenia).

Throwback to Election Night 2012. Basically take comments like these and amp them up to the 100th power.

Quote
I had no hope for the U.S.A. if Obama was re-elected. I had no illusions about Romney and the GOP when it comes to a continuation of crony capitalism with nothing more than a shift as to whom the cronies would be who would benefit, taking care of the corporate high rollers at everyone else expense, and a continuation of casino gambling high risk investments with even less restraints. I knew how ominous a second term of Obama would be, at least with Romney there was a very slim hope that he might do a few things right that might require everyone to come together and share in the pain of saving this nation. A slim hope was better than no hope at all.

Look, the botton line is that this country is a piece of ****. I've spent 24 months in Iraq defending what I thougtht was the country of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. But that counry is gone. We gave it away because of white guilt. We were guilty and ashamed of our success, and this is the result. I'm not here to blow smoke up your ass, but to speak the truth.

The Catholic Church, most Protestant Christian sects, and most Orthodox Christian sects are one the official religion of the cult of MAGA in my opinion. Because those European counties that I mentioned are overwhelmingly Catholic, MAGA cult members would fit in well there at least during the times of daily mass.

They spend the rest of their lives either denying they ever supported Trump (they'll admit to being Republicans, but insist they never approved of his behavior and more controversial actions), or repeating insane Trump-driven conspiracy theories. A small fraction will radicalize and become domestic terrorists. Another fraction will join some other cult, on the far-right or far-left.

That's if he's removed from power peacefully. If he stays in, they'll keep doing the American equivalent of goose-stepping and sieg-heiling until he finally is driven from power.

Uh, what? Most polls show Biden’s set to win the Catholic vote this time around, and American Catholics are already further right than European Catholics.

Doubt it. Because election workers are fallible humans, and mistakes will be made. Sure, Trump lost state X by 50,000 votes, but given what happened in precinct Y, can the results really be believed? Who ya gonna trust, Donald Trump, or your lying brain? Pretty obvious which approach Trump's supporters will embrace.

Yeah right. A 20-something liberal with a college degree could potentially relocate given a terrible election outcome. But even that would be unlikely. A 60-something xenophobic conservative with no higher education? S/he isn't going anywhere.

They'll complain for however long they're still alive about how Trump was the best president ever and would've been reelected had Democrats not been so mean to him. A few will commit acts of violence or suicide, but most will just go on offensive bigoted social media rants.
