Yet another poll providing confirmation that Virginia is Safe D. It's astonishing to think that Hillary Clinton "only" won this state by 5% last time, and that she failed to garner an absolute majority. With numbers like these, Biden will easily flip both Chesterfield County and Virginia Beach, neither of which have gone Democratic in decades-Chesterfield, not since 1948, and Virginia Beach, not since 1964.

Virginia is going to be a nail biter without Tim Kaine on the ticket.

Do we think the state will be called at the poll closing?

Really depends if all those early voters can be released immediately. If so yes..

but if it follows traditional vote counting patterns the networks will wait. They wouldn't wan to call it for Biden while the raw totals are 58% Trump to 40% Biden.

Will Virginia vote more than 10 points than NC? I doubt it

Unless there is a truly massive 1948 style polling error this year, I have to conclude that Hillary Clinton was a uniquely bad candidate.

It voted 9% to the left of NC in 2016, and given the way each state is trending it's not that hard to imagine.

I think Trump maxed out the rural VA vote in 2016, and unless he picked up votes in NOVA, which he won't, there's nowhere to go for him but down.
