Red: The best if only by default. Yes lots of bad red posters.
Blue: Usually terrible, although we have some blue avatars who don't support Trump and aren't so bad.
Yellow: Traditionally pretty bad, but the only one we have regularly now is dead0man and he's actually a lot better than in the past...oh and that guy from Indiana who is kind of forgettable but not bad.
Dark Green: The party is garbage but since this is pretty much only used by European posters who affiliate with their countries not insane Greens, not bad.
Light Green: Mixed. Some very good, some bad, some notorious bedwetting concern trolls.
Dark Red: I still associate this as the "edgy" avatar. Basically people who aren't really much more than the left wing of the Democratic Party, and tankies. The latter are trash, but almost all are socks/trolls anyway. Mixed.
Tan: Almost never used except by trolls or people looking for more edge. Probably the worst on balance for this reason.
Orange: I dislike this one because it's honestly pretty overused, most with it are either foreign posters being very pedantic, people who should be light green and don't belong to any real party, or people who should be red/blue but are trying to be special. But the posters with it aren't usually bad.

So I guess tan.

Let's suppose I were playing a modified version of Russian Roulette. Depending on the color that comes out, I must have a drink with someone of that color avatar, selected at random, except for one color I choose to leave out. Here's what my impressions would be.

Red: Well that narrows it down to most of the site. Some very good, some very bad, some somewhere in between. Neutral.

Blue: Most of the Republicans here are masochists for continuing to stick with a party that marginalizes their interests but I'd even say I have a good relationship with most of the Trumpists here. I'll say lean positive, but I've also said that if I were to have a drink with Fuzzy Bear, religion and politics would be off the table.

Yellow: I've been on this forum for nine years and I think most of our prominent yellow avatars have stopped posting, because I can only recall a handful who actively post on this site now. I sympathize with libertarians on most social and cultural issues but otherwise don't have much personally in common with the ones on this forum.

Dark Green: Neutral/positive. There aren't a lot of dark green avatars anymore either, but I've gotten along fine with them. And I stand a pretty good chance of landing on OC here, which would be a dream come true.

Light Green: We have an image problem, guys; let's at least own up to it. Beet-level doomerism annoys me and so does unbridled idealism and purity tests. And the whole reason I settled on light green was to avoid being boxed into any one ideology or national party identity - even though my ballot is going to almost always be straight D at the end of the day. Wouldn't be my first choice, but I'll take it.

Dark Red: Most of them really aren't that edgy, and Nathan and Antonio V are two of my best friends here. I'd gladly get a drink with either of them any day. Very positive. EDIT: Except for the actual PRC shill who started posting here

Tan: So I guess I would either get peenie_weenie, Mr. Reactionary (pretty much left), Ben Kenobi, TJ, or Yellowhammer. I'm pretty sure that lfromnj's avatar is for meme purposes. I'd love to hang with peenie or Reactionary but Kenobi and Yellowhammer would both tempt me into pulling a real gun on myself. Neutral on TJ and I doubt he ever drinks in the first place. So overall we'd really be playing with dice on this one.

Orange: shua's great, Cathcon's great, smilo's great, Skunk's great, most of our foreign posters are great, and except for the dull O-MI Trump hack I have on ignore I can't think of one I have a negative opinion of. Positive.

I entered this thinking yellow but I think I'm going to stave off the thirsty transphobe and the neo-Confederate doomer kid, so tan it is. (Sorry, peenie. Sad)

No avatar should be an option, as it's up there. Red has by far the most bad posters, but that's mostly a function of it being the most common avatar color by far, and most bad red avatars are bad for being "white noise" or "NPC" type posters, which is mostly just annoying. Light green has to win for me, as no other avatar color has the variety and frequency of aggressively bad posters.

"No avatar" is the worst, aside from tara gilesbie and Anarcho-Statism (and even then), the rest seem to be generally pretty bad.

Red avatars. It's an iron rule of discussion groups that the most numerous group or faction gets lazy due to being able to post more frequently without getting called out. Doesn't matter if it's politics, sports, or model trains. The largest group will get lazy and their aggregate post quality will decline over time.

This is also true.

Blue and yellow are bad with very few exceptions, I guess yellow, because there are no exceptions for yellow avatars, while there a handful of good blue avatars

Who exactly are the posters with no avatar? I’m saying this because I would suppose a lot of the bad apples got offed a while ago.
