Biden would not have lost to Trump, so I'm assuming the Democrats nominated Booker. The exact results may have been a tad different, Booker holding MI due to black turnout being higher or something

If Hillary is the nominee for 2020 then the Democratic primaries would be much worse, as the party would show it has learned nothing from losing in 2016 and rejecting wholesale the progressive left much more dramatically than Biden. Hillary would be forced to actively campaign across the upper midwest where the horse race continues. States like Ohio would be totally uncompetitive even in light of the pandemic. She would only win due to the pandemic. Without the pandemic we get four more years.

However, if Hillary is sane enough not to run or is otherwise defeated, then she just becomes another surrogate.
