Say the former Vice President decides to comeback and try to restore the Bush days. Me? Bill Clinton would crunch Quayle like a potato chip.

President Bill Clinton (D-AR)\Vice President Al Gore (D-TN): 512 EV
Former Vice President Dan Quayle (R-IN)\Governor John Engler (R-MI): 26 EV

And this is being generous towards Dan.

LOL yes, that map is if anything generous to Dan. Clinton would have had his own Reagan ‘84 equivalent in this case, right down to the nominee being the VP of the one-term president he defeated.

He'd have done about what Dole did.  No more, no less.

Realistically, he would have held IN and probably retained AL, MS, and SC.  But it would have been a blowout.

Quayle's image had hit all time lows by the 1990s, and there is little evidence that it has improved in nearly 25 years.

MAYBE he holds on to IN due to home state advantage (though it would be close), but I really think Clinton sweeps the South in this scenario.
