2018 Virginia senate race: Went for Matt Waters the libertarian candidate just because of disenfranchisement with the two main candidates

Democratic Presidential Primary: supported Buttigieg, but he was pretty much out by the time of VA, so I voted for Bloomberg.
2020 presidential election: Voted for Biden/Harris, after being a Trump supporter in 2016. (Couldn’t vote in 2016 but supported Trump).
VA senate: supported Allyssa Baldwin during the primary but Daniel Gade won, voted for him over warner.
Congress: I like Griffith, thought about writing in Flaccavento. In the end, wrote in my former history teacher (he was okay with it)

My first election as in 2010, and in literally every single one I voted straight Democratic.

I guess primaries are worth mentioning though:

2013 New Jersey Democratic Senate Primary: Rush Holt.
2016 Democratic Presidential Primary: Hillary Clinton.
2018 New Jersey Democratic Senate Primary: Lisa McCormick.
2020 New Jersey's 5th Congressional District Primary: Josh Gottheimer.
2020 Democratic Presidential Primary: Joe Biden.

I find it interesting that our voting preferences are the same for President. Do you regret voting for Johnson over Clinton?

Not really, since I do live in California, but in hindsight I wouldn't do so in a swing state.

I've never missed an election. General or primary and I've been at it along time now.

Straight Democrat minus making the error of voting for Republican for state Senator in my second or third election.
Great guy who actually had the better position than the Democrat.
He then went on the vote with his caucus like 90% of the time including against his own policies.

It was a valuable and occasional painful lesson.

I have a relatively high percentage of right in votes especially for "nonpolitical" offices.
I've voted for myself more than anyone probably should.
I just don't cotton to unopposed races, especially conservatives.

While I strategically and philosophically vote for the left most person that has a puncher's chance I am not so ideological that I do not weight temperament and intellectual curiosity heavily as I can suss out especially in the executive but always.

Very interesting to see you gradually switch from the Conservatives to the SNP, presumably because of Scottish independence?

I wonder, if there was a centre-right Scottish secessionist party, would you consider voting for them or would you stick to the SNP?

True

I've swung hard left. Indyref, being quite a left wing movement 'radicalised' me even though I first supported it for centre right free market reasons. The centre sh!tting the bed and enabling right wing populism didn't help much!

Not much of a voting history yet, but I'm sure that will change eventually.

2020 Democratic Presidential Primary: Bernie Sanders (at this point Biden and Sanders were the only choices).

2020 state-level primary: Yes on Amendment 2 (Medicaid expansion), didn't bother to fill out the rest because I knew no one except Galloway would have a chance. I do wonder if maybe people were sleeping on Elad Gross a bit, though.

2020 general election ballot:
Straight D, to the point of leaving Republicans running unopposed for county offices blank. No on Amendment 1 (term limits for state executive branch officeholders, I suspect it was specifically targeted at Galloway), no on Amendment 3 (reversal of Clean Missouri reforms of 2018, very sneaky wording by state Republicans which is why it passed).

1996 Pres: Clinton (was a registered R at this time and rather conservative, but c'mon, it was Bob Dole. Pretty sure even Bob Dole's mom couldn't vote for Bob Dole.)

2000 Pres: Bush

2004 Pres: Bush (strongly considered Kerry; in the end decided "couldn't change horses midstream.)

2008 Pres: Abstained

2012 Pres: Abstained (this represents my wandering in the wilderness phase. Had I voted, I'd probably have voted for Obama both times, although would have been more likely to do so in '12 than '08. Just very politically apathetic and disengaged during this time. My belief structure was changing, maybe just not yet ready to realize I had shifted sides.)

2014 FL Gov: Crist (Rick Scott is terrible enough to get me back in the voting booth!)

2016 Pres Primary: Sanders (now a reg Dem.)

2016 Pres: Clinton

2018 FL Gov: Gillum
2018 FL Sen: Nelson (How does Scott keep winning statewide elections? Oh yeah, he keeps facing off against some of the most uninspiring, awful candidates ever.)

2020 Pres Primary: Sanders

2020 Pres: Biden
