He is the conservative PM of the UK however he does have some actual populist polices and along with some liberal views that would run him into conflict with republicans. So, Is he closer to U.S democrats or republicans?

The differences between the Republicans and Tories are greatly exaggerated.

Now I am not entirely certain about Boris Johnson, but Michael Johnson?  That dude?  Yeah I am absolutely certain about that cat.  He was a real party man.  He could throw them like the best of 'em.  Get all the tables set up, get the chairs set up, and then bringing out the Solo Cups.  Like no joke dude I would come home some nights, the dude lived across the street, and like there would be all these banging hot cheerleader chicks and like half the football team just hanging outside drinking beers and smoking cigarettes.  Michael man, he was real chill about that sort of stuff, he even would sneak in some of the good wicked stuff.  Dude, one time I even saw the Vietnam War.  That's how good it was.

But was was just the most absolute bomb about Michael Johnson was that he would get us all mad amped up, we'd have like a couple of Four Lokos with a Redbull chaser and we would like just get wicked and just run outside for hours and hours in front of the house like gawddang maniacs.  Sometimes we would even rob several Blockbusters before stopping at the local QuikTrip and getting a dozen Chicken Taquitos.  Man I sure do miss the old days when you could at least occasionally make money from the distribution of video.  Man, I sure miss Blockbuster.  It had a nice design and had all the game systems and games and movies you could rent and they had like the concessions at the register and like 30 day movie passes that was mad dope.  I saw so many random movies with that sh**t. .  . . .christ I'm getting nostalgic I'm sorry.

Anyway, Boris Johnson?  What party would he be in?  No idea politically, but I would bet money he'd probably show up at the kind of parties Rob Ford went to, AM I RIGHT LADS?!

Zero Democratic politicians would have campaigned for Brexit.

Republicans easily but he wouldn’t be close to the worst Republican. In fact he’d probably be one of the better ones. Which says far more about them than him.

He did endorse Obama back in 2008.

As did Donald Trump. And he now has about as much in common with his 2008 self as Trump does with his 2008 self.

Zero Democratic politicians would have campaigned for Brexit.

Unless you count Dennis Kucinich. And maybe Tulsi Gabbard. If you're willing to count either as "politicians" at this point, which you probably shouldn't.

Trump never endorsed Obama, just Hillary in the primaries, then McCain in the general.

On policy alone he would fit in with Clintonite New Democrats quite well.

I can't think of any Republicans who would be similar to him apart from maybe one of the New England governors.

In many respects he is one of the most centrist Tory leaders ever.

I reject the premise that conservatism and populism are incompatible.

Many have compared him (in rhetoric at least) to Disraeli.
He is clearly not afraid of public spending, particularly in marginal constituencies the Tories just happen to hold.

He supports nationalized hospitals so he's left of the DSA.

His policy outside of Brexit is pretty clearly middle of the road.

He'd be a Mitt Romney style Republican, right down to having a father who was also a politician. Like Romney he's changed his spots at various points over the years.

Zero Democratic politicians would have campaigned for Brexit.

I'm not sure what would be analogous to being in the EU for a country as large as the United States, but I'm confident that virtually every mainstream politician here would oppose it. Even opposition to something like NAFTA cuts across party lines.

Would oppose Brexit or the EU?

The latter, because the US belonging to anything like the EU in the first place is unimaginable.
Because you are enough of a hegemon not to need to. Those who would support it most are those who would have been the interventionists in the '20s/'30s I think.

AOC would be in a Keir Starmer shadow cabinet if she was elected in Britain

Democrats, albeit conservative ones. The GOP are just too far-right and unhinged to have an analogue anywhere else in the developed world.

His covid policy has probably been to the left of even most Democrats.  With that said, I don't think he would fit neatly into either party.

Nah, the Sunday Telegraph would out her as an anti-semite for wanting Palestinians to have water and Keir would write a letter apologizing to the Jews of Britain for this extremist position having been allowed to manifest itself in the once proud Labour party.

Describing Covid policy in terms of "left" and "right" doesn't make any sense. I think you're falling down the classic trap of "what Democrats would do here = left" and "what Republicans would do here = right". Which makes people say things like "I'm left-wing on guns" and they mean they support gun control. There's nothing left-wing or right-wing about being for gun control or Covid lockdowns or military intervention.
