53-39 Biden won the second debate
60-28 Biden won in first debate

Who wants to take bets on which doomer will claim this is actually bad for Biden and that Trump narrowing it from 32% to 14% means he actually won the debate?

The first debate insta poll was actually far more democratic so Biden didn't do particularly worse in 2nd debate.

The sample merely got redder. Plus there ARE more Democrats than Republicans in the country. There is nothing wrong with having more Democrats in the sample.

You realize the second sample was 32-31 GOP right?

that's more GOP than the nation.

Biden did well.

Yea, that was my point.

24% of his audience for Biden is a massive win.

Biden ideas are much more popular than Trump's anyways, Trump only chance is to get PA which doesn't like a ban on fracking to vote R again, aside that Biden is the Prez.

PA 2016 had a lot more Rs in the State and Federal legislature than in 2020, that's the difference. Just like WI and MI

Really happy to be wrong about post-debate polls, just waiting for CNN to confirm.

CNN: 53% Joe 39% Don

CNN focus group in North Carolina: all said Biden won.

An interesting divergence from the Ohio one.

I saw this too.

Pretty bad cause Trump NEEDS to win North Carolina.

I literally do not understand people who think Trump won. We must have been watching debates. "Not making QUITE as much of a fool of himself as last time" does not, in fact, constitute a "win."

I think with Trump under the threat of being muted, Biden had space to make his positions clear.

Biden was quite good.

Trump however did handle the "Paris Accord' stuff well.

Why should the USA sign up for reductions in industrial activity when China, India and Russia do not stop polluting until 2030?

Trump did get that point across well.

Trump is more feisty, but clearly, Biden is more 'Presidential' in a traditional sense.

I think the race has tightened, but I cannot escape the COVID-19 infection at the point where Trump lost it.

Even if Trump won the debate, it's too little, too late.

Well On how it relates to the election yah Biden will still win, but on pure debate terms every topic was basically a tie except the economy and energy which Trump win

I STRONGLY disagree. "Wind kills birds." What? Trump was flat-out objectively wrong in just about everything he said in those sections. And/or incoherent. And the rest of the debate, Biden spanked him. ESPECIALLY on COVID and healthcare, you know, the most important topics of the election.

1.Nobody stops polluting by 2030.

2.With that out of the way, this really is a half truth.  It is true that India, China and Russia do not have to start lowering their emissions until 2030, but they are 'required' under the Paris Climate Accords to slow their rate of increases in emissions until 2030 when they have to start decreasing them.  So, they also have to start addressing their emissions output.

3.The Accords, at this point, are completely voluntary. Russia signed on but has shown no interest in slowing its rate of emissions.  However, Trump actually told the truth on China and India being 'a mess' and both nations are seeking to cut their emissions for their own environmental interests anyway.

Wind turbines do kill birds, but so does every other energy source, and much more so.

People here have an anxiety disorder lol.

Even if Trump DOES win being freaked out about it months before is still seriously awful.

Didn't YouGov have the first debate much closer like 48-41 or something like that?

YouGov, DFP, and CNN all found Biden leading by double digits in post-debate polls:

Doomers will probably say it's not as big a lead as the last one (although not actually the case for the YouGov one at least), but:

1. It's still a sizable, double digit lead.

2. It matches up pretty well with what the horse race numbers are, which is terrible for Trump.

3. It sure as hell means Trump's not going to get any sort of boost from this. Everybody is entrenched at this point.

Again, these people weren't really undecided.
