This is why I don't think it'll be quite the crazy bloodbath some people are expecting. People who dislike Trump are still very willing to vote for the nice downballot R.

The trends will catch up with "non-controversial" incumbents like Cornyn eventually. As for this year, I do think he'll narrowly survive as Trump loses by around 1%, but there won't be a 6-point difference between those races.
