And even after we get the coronavirus under control, I would avoid going to certain countries like China which has made clear that American citizens (even those who aren't of Chinese descent) would be subject to arbitrary arrest for trumped up charges like spying, and detained without access to American embassy personnel.

Of course. 2022 seems like my personal ideal(especially given it is a midterm). I’d probably pick somewhere like Canada or the UK at that point.
