I am surprised British Conservatives didn't slam Liverpool star Jordan Henderson for kneeling during last Saturday's match.

Some right-leaning commentators like Katie Hopkin said that it's not his fight.

Hopefully this shuts up any boneheads who thought Group B wasn't the hardest group in the Champions League.

That Real Madrid 3-2 loss to Shakhtar Donetsk leaves me wondering about Zinedane Zindane's job security.

I mean, they have to go on the road to Barcelona next, and they might be in what is the true group of death in the Champions League. They might not even get third, and the Europa League parachute spot that goes with it.

Bayern Munich just flattening Atletico Madrid right now in Munich.

They're up 4-0 at the moment, with just over ten minutes to play.

Game of the day yesterday was the 5-3 goalfest between Villareal and Sivasspor (Villareal won, led by two goals from Paco Alcacer.)

Also, going into today's match with Leeds, somehow, Aston Villa is in second place. It would be rather impressive if they kept that position all season, just a point behind Everton.

Everton and Aston Villa are my favourite Premier League teams. This is the dream!

Winning start to the betting today. Had West Ham-Man City 1X @ 2.95. (also lost the Over/Under on that match, but that was part of an acca) My other bets placed right now:

Singles:
Istanbul Basaheksir-Antalyaspor - 2 @ 5.30
Man Utd-Chelsea - 2 @ 2.70
Lazio-Bologna - X @ 3.95
Barcelona-Madrid - 2 @ 3.60
Santa Clara-Sporting - 1 @ 4.15
Fulham-Crystal Palace - 2 @ 3.00

Treble @ 3.19:
Mainz-Gladbach - 2
Dortmund-Schalke - 1
Leipzig-Hertha - 1

5-fold @ 29.15:
Man Utd-Chelsea - 2
Fulham-Crystal Palace - 2
Liverpool-Sheff Utd - 1
Norwich-Wycombe - 1
Reading-Rotherham - 1

I was tempted by Sampdoria, but no points for not making the bet. Also tempted by Osasuna, Las Palmas, and Lukaku to score, but haven't decided what to do with them yet. Will be playing Europatipset tomorrow.

Another game, another Lukaku goal. Betting on Lukaku or Calvert-Lewin to score any time is almost free odds at this point. Overall, in profit for the day, but a couple of very near misses, and Chelsea bottling it against a terrible Man Utd team prevented a much bigger profit. West Ham, Madrid, Crystal Palace, and Santa Clara (even if they lost) were my best bets of the day, I think. Las Palmas and Brondby are ones I'd like back.

Also, Romelu Lukaku is just such an Unbeatable Titan, so to speak. Forza Inter!

Tempted to go X2 on it, even. Spezia played pretty well against a Fiorentina team that is much better than Parma. I don't think they're necessarily favored, but I think they have a slightly better chance than the odds suggest. If Parma's odds were more like 2.25, I may be more tempted by them.

Also, I was really impressed at how quickly Lukaku picked up Italian. Sure, he may have linguistic talent, and learning Italian isn't that hard for a French speaker, but it shows the kind of hard work he's done at Inter.

Just listened to a Lukaku interview and yes he's picked up Italian pretty quickly!

I must say that my favourite heavy-scoring forward in Serie A is Ciro Immobile, because his scoring average - especially with Lazio - is simply crazy (at least, crazy if your name is not Cristiano Ronaldo) and he is a staple of the Italian national team.

Lukaku speaks 8 languages, so I suspect he was able to pick Italian up so quickly partly because he’s a natural linguist.

Smiley Italian and Swedish/Norwegian football are where I make all of my sports betting profits.

So I was wrong about Everton - apparently missing Richarlison and Coleman was a bit too much. Sadly, I liked the odds (and the club), so I overinvested in them, so they severely hampered my potential profit for the day. A few key near misses on Cadiz, Getafe-Granada, and Arminia, too. Still alive in 2 small accas today. Just need Bodo/Glimt (best team in Norway) to win at home to get a nice profit on the day.

UPDATE:

7-fold @ 7.24:
Bodo/Glimt-Mjondalen - 1
Rangers-Livingston - 1
Red Star-Javor Ivanjica - 1
Juventus-Verona - 1

Istanbulspor - Eskisehirspor - 1
Fiorentina-Udinese - 1
Wolfsberger-Rapid Vienna - 1

5-fold @ 21.16:
Wolves-Newcastle: X2
Parma-Spezia: X2

Wolfsberger-Rapid Vienna - 2
Bodo/Glimt-Mjondalen - 1
Molde-Stromsgodset - 1

I did have a bunch of losers, too:

Singles (big fat losers):
Cadiz-Villareal - 1
Getafe-Granada - X
Southampton-Everton - 2
Southampton-Eerton - Over 2.5
Wolfsburg-Arminia - 2

7-fold @ 2026 (get rich and go home bet):
Southampton-Everton - 2
Fiorentina-Udinese - 1
Wolfsberger-Rapid Vienna - 2
Getafe-Granada - X
Cadiz-Villareal - 1
Wolfsburg-Arminia - 2

Parma-Spezia - X

5-fold @ 20.33:
Wolfsberger-Rapid Vienna - 2
Juventus-Verona - 1
Nice-Lille - 2
Cadiz-Villareal - 1X
Real Sociedad-Huesca - 1

7-fold @ 42.26:
Southampton-Everton - 2
Nice-Lille - 2

Juventus-Verona - 1
Red Star-Javor Ivanjica - 1

Benevento-Napoli - 2
Wolfsberger-Rapid Vienna - 2

A bunch of great games this weekend.

I'd have to pick the 3-3 draw between Sassuolo and Torino as the game of the day for Friday.

Saturday's game of the day would be Real Madrid's 3-1 demolition of Barcelona. After five games, Barcelona now sits twelfth in La Liga, seven points back of the lead. If this keeps up, Ronald Koeman might get the sack.

And for today, I'll take Cagaliri's 4-2 victory over Crotone, in which there were five goals scored at halftime.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, Roma's trip to Milan to take on AC Milan, the leaders in Serie A, is the game I'll be watching for.

Just need Milan to hang on (I have Milan win, Zlatan to score, both teams to score), Levante and Celta to do nothing for the next 35 minutes, and Spurs to get off their ass and bang in a goal (bonus points if it's Son). Although I might be willing to sacrifice $600 for the pleasure of Spurs losing. Velje over AaB paid nicely at 4.25, also hit Mallorca win over Alcorcon, and if Sochaux can beat Amiens, it'll be even better. I took a punt on Augsburg to beat Leverkusen, but it's looking like I should've gone for the X2 instead of being greedy.

I was silly enough to bet a 4-fold with 4 wins in Sweden, the land of draws. (I profit off betting Swedish draws all the time) That turned out to be a disaster, but only $20 stake, so not the end of the world.

EDIT: This is appalling refereeing in the Milan-Roma match.

So, the game of the day, refereeing debacles and all, was the AC Milan/Roma game by a mile.

Plenty of good UEFA Champions League Action today and tomorrow.

I probably will have Borussia Monchenglabach/Real Madrid, Olympique Marseilles/Manchester City and Atalanta/Ajax circled for today, and Sevilla/Rennes, Juventus/Barcelona and Manchester United/Red Bull Leipzig for tomorrow.

Three contenders for game of the day from today's Champions League matches.

Real Madrid coming back from a 2-0 deficit to get a draw against Borussia Monchengladbach, Atalana coming back from a 2-0 deficit to get a draw against Ajax and Atletico Madrid's 3-2 victory over Red Bull Salzburg.

They might have only been playing Krasnodar today, but that foursome of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic looked great for Chelsea today.

Barcelona. Is there a more hateable team? With that said, Juve plays terribly considering the sheer talent in the squad and deserve to lose.

For many years Juve has won loads of Serie A games against small teams 1-0 while playing crap, which is one of the numerous reasons why the Zebras are hateable.

Manchester United looked really good, thrashing Red Bull Leipzig 5-0 behind a treble of goals for Marcus Rashford.

Now if they could keep that form and extend it to the Premier League...

They're lucky Inter are also playing like crap. Speaking of Juve players, PSG seems to have done some great business signing Moise Kean on loan. 4 goals in 4 to start his PSG career. Never good to see such good young players languishing on the bench or not even on the bench.
