Did about as well as he could considering the obstacle placed on stage with him.

What obstacle, himself?

Biased moderator.

If you mean biased against lies, then you’re correct

Biased against what the people want to hear about.

You and others wanting to hear lies doesn't turn them into the truth.

She didn't ask a single substantive question.

FIFY.

YW!

And I agree that an honest moderator is a huge impediment for noted liar (and alleged child rapist) Donald Trump.

Just a quick reminder everyone that Buzz and the maroon avatar plant thought Trump was great through most the first debate as well. Just to help put into context their gauge on how well Trump is doing in a debate/town hall

I’m fairly certain Buzz was adamant that nobody won the debate, although you are right about Solidcoalition.

Took 20 minutes for voters to begin asking questions.  This is a hit piece if I’ve ever seen one!

Being asked questions is not a hit piece. Sounds like Trump isn't POTUS material if he can't handle softballs like "Will you commit to a peaceful transfer of power?"

Flashbacks to a certain former half-term Alaska governor being asked the famous "gotcha" question of "What newspapers do you read?"

Buzz only said that at the end when he knew he couldn’t realistically spin it but throughout the first half he was firmly “lol sleepy joe looks awful. Trump dominating”

Trump was a trainwreck even by Trumpian standards. He all but endorsed several Qanon claims, evaded questions about whether he would accept the election results, and was generally very belligerent. He also threw out false "data", but thats nothing new for him.

Savannah Guthrie did not let him get away with anything, at least to the level a moderator can control.

I doubt he made anybody outside his hard hard base more likely to vote for him.

None of that is true.
He clearly said he would accept election results.
He didn't endorse anything related to Qanon.
He was belligerent only when Savannah kept interrupting him in a very rude way.

Yes, a company with clear financial incentive to root for Trump's re-election. Their subscriptions and advertising revenue are going to plummet once he's out of office.

By the way, Trump did pivot to the problems in Europe when asked about his poor handling of coronavirus.
I think that will be the theme until the election.

By the end of the day Trump got the event he wanted

If republicans or Trump supporters want to get upset at anybody
get upset at Trump for setting this up in the first place

He agreed to do this and who agreed to let Savannah Guthrie moderate
If Trump was not happy with that he could have easliy turned NBC down and went to Fox News and did a townhall on their network

He has no one to blame for this but himself

NY Times headline reveals the best analysis of Guthrie I've seen, its accurate and it's concise. Anyone complaining about "gotcha" questions will go down in history like those who claimed Sarah Palin got "got" by Katie Couric

I think you got this wrong. Nobody is complaining. She was very hostile and biased. And her style of questioning was belligerent and rude. The people don't like that and just because of that fact, Trump won the debate with the moderator.

If you haven't noticed yet, Trump doesn't have control of the narrative. He hasn't for years now.
