Gal Gadot has done nothing objectionable besides complete her mandated military service in a non-combat position, offer basic support for her country's success in a conflict with a terror group, and post a vaguely annoying video of her singing during a global crisis.

As others have noted Cleopatra was ethnically Greek (which Gadot looks more or less right for) and Ancient Egyptians were in all likelihood not black based on recent DNA tests that were done. Prior to that there could be some actual debate about that.

I'm fascinated how so many liberal Americans actually believe in this utterly deranged and anti-scientific view of a Black Cleopatra. And furthermore, that they're actually angry at how this Flat Earth-like view of history is not consistenly pandered to by major movie studios.

Plus of course contemporary accounts/art etc further indicates ancient Egyptians were mostly lighter skinned - Nubians (who unsurprisingly interacted with Egyptians a fair bit) were a different matter tbf.

Plenty of other people were in that horrible music video and only two of them were actual singers.
