Christians: How are you attending church in the age of COVID?

I finally had my first online church service, from the Episcopal Church that was near my old UCC church back in Connecticut. I participated in the prayers privately and it wasn't difficult as I have the Book of Common Prayer downloaded on my iPhone, so it's easy to follow along.

It's no substitute for in-person worship but I don't have the means to attend church and I also don't want to risk catching COVID, so I intend on worshiping via Facebook Live for now.

I do miss receiving the Sacraments, though; that's largely why I became an Episcopalian.

Atlantic Canada had minimal to zero COVID the past several months, so restrictions are pretty loose. So long as everyone over four wears masks and you keep extended families distanced from each other (e.g. Parents, kids and grandparents could all sit together even if living in different households), churches can pretty much do what they want.

In person with masks and - more or less - social distancing, which is the norm in Italy (or at least in the part of Italy where I live, though I have no reason to doubt that it is the same in the rest of the country).

However I can only speak for the period from September on for obvious reasons.

In person with no restrictions. One advantage of being a small congregation (church launched in December 2019). We did online from late March to late May. Then in person with masks and social distancing (during service worship team and pastor were exempt while performing their offices) till July 4. Masks off for a few weeks till Holcomb executive ordered in late July (much to our firm objection). County the church is in went full reopen in late August because they only had less than 200 cases Since March.

Yes i criticize the mask mandates because in Indiana, the governors orders are subject to legislative review. However Holcomb didn’t call them back into session. Also, the science doesn’t add up in my opinion.

My Sunday church is meeting in person without masks.  Seating is in groups of 4-6, but you can sit with friends and the groups aren't quite 6 feet apart from each other, and pretty much everyone shakes hands and stuff.  Groups have resumed meeting without social distancing as well.  There is an alternate viewing location available for those who want to be in a masked environment.

My Friday church (a church does a Friday night young adults-only service) is meeting in person without masks or any modifications to its seating.  The after hour afterwards sees sports played without any thought to social distancing either.

Online mostly but we've done some in person outdoors services. I also went to a couple in ND masked up and with every other row sectioned off (this was before ND really blew up.)

My congregation makes sure to wipe the snakes down with bleach before passing them on to the next person.

My church is new and already was having services in a personal home, so not much changed about it when covid hit. We are changing venues soon, and I dont know if there will be new rules about masks or anything yet.
