If Trump were to win a second term and assuming the GOP still have 50 senate seats, do Thomas and Alito both retire in 2021 and 2022 before the senate would have an opportunity to flip?

Who are the potential candidates to replace either or both.

I think Rao and Thapar are the favoured 2, with maybe Rushing in the running for the Thomas seat as well. Oldham from the fifth circuit seems like a possibility as well.

For the umpteenth time, Thomas has said he'll die on the bench so no, he won't be retiring.

Alito might, though. As for his replacement, probably Thapar.

I think it's actually more likely Breyer dies/retires in the next four than either Alito or Thomas retires or dies.

If it's Breyer, I'd expect Trump to pick Brian Sandoval (not a Federalist society justice, but it still moves the court to the right).

If it is Alito, I'd speculate on Tom Cotton again.

If it's Thomas, I'd guess Daniel Cameron.

they're not going to pick brian sandoval lmfao

They'll probably do Cameron for the Thomas seat. Rushing, Britt Grant, Thapar, James Ho, and Noel Francisco are all names I've seen for an Alito or Breyer vacancy.
