Yes they do, and they seem to have a lot less of the political stalemates that our state governments suffer.

That's because the provincial government is determined on the composition of the legislative assembly. There's less stalemates because you don't have to negotiate with an upper house with entirely different political goals nor do you have to negotiate with a potentially hostile executive. The legislature is the executive.
