What if Hillary Clinton selected her other choice Tom Vilsack? I'm thinking Donald Trump still wins, but it would have been closer then anticipated

The Trump Organization Owner Donald Trump (R-NY)\Governor Mike Pence (R-IN): 280 EV
Former State Secretary Hillary Clinton (D-NY)\Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack (D-IA): 258 EV

Iowa and Virginia probably would have been closer, but there would be little difference otherwise. Vilsack is just as boring as Kaine, and the Comey letter would still cause undecideds to shift to Trump at the last minute.

Fmr. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (D-NY) / Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack (D-IA)
Businessman Donald Trump (R-NY) / Governor Mike Pence (R-IN) ✓

Vilsack is lipstick on a pig when it comes to addressing the fundamental problems of the Clinton campaign.

I doubt it would make a huge difference. Then again, the race was so close just about anything could have so it's possible. But I probably wouldn't bet on it.

Sherrod Brown is another story, however.

Trump gets the exact same map, minus Iowa.

I don't believe for a second that Vilsack has *that much* of a favourite son effect in Iowa.
