I know this isn't possible given the Bobby Kennedy Act, but if it were possible, how would Ron Paul and his Kentucky Senator son Rand do in the election?

Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) / Senator Rand Paul (R-KY)

Actually, I think he has the effect of a proto-Trump. All the criticism I've read of Paul going back to 2012 applied to Trump in 2016, and American voters generally fall for lesser evilism anyway. The nepotism makes it a little closer than it could be, though.

Does the Bobby Kennedy Act even apply to the position of Vice President?

I'm not sure that enforcing the act in that way would survive a constitutional challenge.
