Given that the rioters has been responsible for 30 deaths and a billion dollars of destroyed property, should President Trump crack down on them?

It's so sad when someone turns a 7 day ban into a permaban with only 2 days left.  Cry Cry Cry

Actually that is the role for local police and prosecutors... and only on rioters. BLM is not pro-rioter. People taking advantage of a lawful protest to do illegal stuff, even if it is pick-pocketing, should be busted. The rules of civil behavior apply to a peaceful protest.

Cameras are everywhere, and there is no privacy for criminality.

Tough luck, Proud Boys! You might get to share a cell with someone who has very different tastes in music.

Yes, they should also be declared a domestic terrorist organization and an anti-white hate group.

Forum rules.

I have never been banned, but here is how it goes.

Suppose say something that gets me banned. On some other forum I got someone banned for telling a new poster to commit suicide, which was up to a moderator to decide. That fellow was banned. Or someone accused me of being a homosexual child molester (take out the "homosexual" part and it is still inexcusable). So one tries to keep posting by re-registering as a new participant. Something gives it away.

The seven-day ban might be a cooling-off period that allows one to reflect on the vileness of what he posted so that he can return knowing to not say something less egregious again. But still heated, that person returns as another entity (the "sock puppet") and quickly blows his cover. Maybe the fellow gets angry at another poster and delivers some personal attack. Or if I tried it I would be identified by my predictable quirks.

Disciplinary threats must stick. If a term of parole is that you not go to any place where alcoholic beverages are served and you participate in your child's birthday party at Applebee's (which does serve alcoholic beverages) with two days left in your term of parole, then such may be good for a return to prison for a parole violation. Or maybe your term of parole is extended a year. That is even if you had no alcoholic beverages. That is a tough rule, but rules must often be applied stringently.
