Who knows what this does to the McConnell agenda...

McConnell would have to have an agenda first.

Apparently committees can still meet. The full Senate just won’t be conducting any business on the Senate floor. So the judiciary committee can keep on chugging along even if it kills them.

Couldn't the Democrats now just refuse to show up and deny the committee a quorum? Yes, they could change the rules, but that requires a full Senate vote, does it not?

The D's have to be careful about obstructing Barrett, anything like that will be a retaliatory strike against Biden and his Cabinet especially in a Covid environment

The Senate is a Parliament and not the House, rules go by unanimous consent. Any 1 Senator can object to legislation

All of these dumbsh@%ts should have been masked, distanced and checked daily since the pandemic started.

And the Vice President should have been locked in sealed room and surrounded by a ring of fire like the Pope during the Plague for chain of succession reasons. Certainly should not have been with the President at a super spreader event.

Given that the Dems working assumption should be that either they gain control of the Senate or MoscowMitch will block anything and everything he can, I fail to see how this should change their behavior.

Looking less and less likely Barrett will be confirmed before the election.

If they shove her through during the lame duck session, just gives Dems more excuse to pack the courts.

The Rs are gonna fill Ginsburg seat regardless and even if D's pack the Crt it still will be 6/5 Conservative. Roberts would have been more likely to switch on Citizens United if remained 5/4, but given that Barrett is more like him than Ginsburg is, he is likely to keep Citizens United. So, blocking Barrett confirmation which will do them no good will ultimately lead to her confirmation anyways, before the end of the yr. Even if Kelly is seated early, Romney came out supporting Barrett

I didn't watch much of the RBG funeral due to fact she gave her seat the Rs and we are likely to live under Citizens United. She claims she worked out, but she had. pancreatic cancer and with colon cancer, it takes a lot of guts to sit on the bench for long periods of time. She should of retired under Obama
