Of course not. A family member of mine died while Trump talked about COVID not being a big deal at all. If our lives don't matter to Trump, why should we feel any sympathy for the man who is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans?

I don't know if I feel sorry. Certainly I don't feel schadenfreude or ill will or anything. I'm just confused. I voted "Yes".

Amen.

He is just gonna get sympathy from his WC voters only, females and minorities aren't fazed by the Covid outbreak of Trump, if there is a bump the unemployment rate is at 7 percent, the need for extending unemployment at 600, isn't necessary that is the same as trying to get UBI at the expense of everyone else 1200

trump is in a select class of truly terrible people in public life that I can't feel any sympathy for. If he showed he cared more for the most vulnerable in our society, that could be a different story. But he is who he is, and it is what it is.

While I'm not going to hope for him to get sicker, I can't feel sorry for him. This is definitely the kind of situation where you say "karma's a b****."

I feel about this the same way I feel about someone who gets hospitalized from a car wreck they got into after driving 30 miles above the speed limit and running multiple red lights. You hope that they'll recover, but you can't help but shake your head and think of what a dumbass the person was risking both his and numerous other innocent people's safety being so reckless, and hope they'll learn their lesson.

Actually, to best complete the analogy it would be like if Trump was someone with a long record of such Behavior, where you realize that they will learn absolutely nothing from their recklessness.

I agree with all the points you brought up, but I wouldn't say he deserves the virus. At least not getting seriously ill, let alone die. Mr. Trump is a horrible person for many reasons, but he's still a fellow human being. What he deserves his election defeat and charges including fair trials for his corruption after leaving office.

I'm not gonna say that anyone deserves the virus.  But if one person had to get it, Trump is closer to that point than any other individual in the world.

What about Xi

They both probably deserve it as much as anyone. Now, will you direct even one-tenth of the same level of contempt and hate boner you have for Xi towards the incompetent and deceitful leader whom you can actually vote out?

No, because he got himself into that situation through his own ignorance. If he had listened to scientists early on rather than undermining them, the situation would be far better as it is today. If the White House more strictly followed guidelines, he wouldn't have been infected in all likelyhood.

However, I hope he will recover and not experience long term effects. Human decency demands wishing him well. He probably wouldn't show any decency if Biden was tested positive instead, but that doesn't mean we should do the same. Most people are better than him.

No. He completely deserves this and I don't care what happens to him. Some people just don't deserve compassion.

To be honest, it's pretty hilarious.

Let's be honest: It would've been cosmically unjust for 200,000 people to die of this disease due to Trump's negligence, only for him to get away unscathed. I am not one bit ashamed to say that this news made my week.

No, because he got himself into that situation through his own ignorance

So are Jahana Hayes, Joe Cunnigham, Ben McAdams, Mike DeWine, Kwame Raoul and Keisha Lance Bottoms similarly ignorant?

Since when is catching an infectious disease an indication of someone's morality or intelligence?

If you criticize Trump for getting COVID-19, then you have to also criticize the dozens of Democratic legislators and lawmakers who have as well.

There is a difference between someone taking the virus seriously, taking precautions who then unofortunately gets it and someone that downplays the virus, takes no precautions (and flaunts it!) and then gets it because they are a dipsh*t.

No idea how any of these people caught it, but you are talking as if there is no difference between situations

Did that even need saying?
How difficult is it to understand this?
Is it ignorance, or just plain avoidance/deflection to simple, observable facts?

I feel sorry for the Secret Service agents and White House employees (maintenance workers and such, the non-political people) that Trump has unnecessarily put at risk by refusing to follow or enforce common-sense safety guidelines.

Considering conservatives openly celebrated RBG’s death it’s only fair that we get that same opportunity now.
