Is anyone else a little disturbed by the constant speculation about the president's condition?  I know he's the president, but he's still an American citizen with a right to medical privacy.  I think it would be good for the White House to be transparent- because this sort of speculation is as natural as it is unfortunate-, but they're under no obligation to do so.

If he's temporarily not up to his duties, he should allow Pence to be acting president, like past presidents have done due to medical issues.  What we should do is pray.

It's not like he's the most powerful person in a global superpower with 350 million people, and the immediate future of the world hinges on how well he pulls through a viral infection that kills a significant percentage of people with his risk factors. (\s)

You choose to run for President and get elected, you forfeit a ton of privacy in exchange for power. His health condition is a national and global concern.

Well, they have a pretty low bar for comparison.

Could Trump face jail time if he knew he had Covid and still went to public places knowing he would put others at risk just because he didn't want it to become public that he caught covid?

https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/03/politics/twitter-trump-policy-ban-the-squad-politics-trnd/index.html

Twitter for some reason bans posts wishing for Trump's death. The Squad wonders why Twitter didn't extend them the same courtesy.

Is anyone else a little disturbed by the constant speculation about the president's condition?

Not at all. The condition of the president a month from election day is 100% relevant and we would not have to speculate in the first place had this administration been open and honest from day one.

What disgusts me more (obviously not directed at you) are the number of smug red avatars acting like the exact people they claimed they were better than after RBG died.

In their defense 1 of those 2 didnt cause the conditions that is possibly leading to their death at the cost of 200k+ deaths of our countrymen

All this speculation could be ended immediately if the White House would just be honest and transparent with the American people.

Give us a timeline of how the situation has progressed and details on the president's current condition.

Tell us when he got tested over the last week, and what the results were.

Even this forum's worst Trump hacks have to admit that an Obama or Biden administration would have released this information immediately.  The Trump administration continually brings this on themselves by lying, dodging, and otherwise being dishonest with the American people.

Surprise surprise, we care about the health of the president.  And even bigger surprise, when the White House refuses to give us information, and what information they do give us is contradictory or clearly false, we turn to "inside sources" and "eyewitness reports" to try to get a more honest picture.

Hiding of presidential health issues is nothing new; see JFK's Addison's, Eisenhower's heart attack, Reagan's Alzheimer's.

But this is different, because this is a contagious disease.

You relinquish the right to medical privacy when you run for the office of the CINC and the leader of the free world. If you want to remain completely private then resign.

Maybe he's getting ready for the full moon on Halloween, which actually happens this year.  (ref: A Night in the Lonesome October, a unique novel and one of my all-time favorites.)

This goes two ways:

Trump dies or is in bad, bad medical shape, OR

he emerges from hospital Wednesday or Thursday, says he beat COVID and is ready to beat Biden and he pulls it out as he did four years ago.

Ah, so all he has to do is not die and he wins, according to you?

The questions about Trump's movements endangering others will persist long after his own COVID case has an outcome.

Lol Trump’s best hope is to be in bad shape and how for a sympathy bump (and pray the media doesn’t report on his irresponsibility)
Him jumping out would just give Biden the excuse to get back to attacking Trump for his awful response (and Covid is now the center of attention) and would raise questions about his actual health as noted above. Trump now needs a straight flush, which definitely could and imo will happen, but it’s not as simple as “get up and defeat the libruls”.

NPR has a pretty good timeline of the last week vis. when people may have been exposed, when people became symptomatic, etc.
