Here goes mine (won't use the tier generate meme template thing although it's a good one):

S-Tier:
Melodic Hardcore
Real Emo (Midwest Emo included)

Not much to say here. These genres are the absolute pinnacle and epoch of music.

A-Tier:
Pop-Punk
Real Screamo/Emoviolence
Post-Hardcore
Post-Rock
Easycore

Very very solid genres and still some of my favorites.

B-Tier:
Punk
Hardcore Punk
Orgcore
Indie Rock
Powerviolence
Alternative (90s style)

Generally good, not as perfection as the above genres but still more good than not.

C-Tier:
Grindcore
Metalcore
Grunge
Folk Rock
Sludge
Industrial
Noise Rock
Heartland Rock
Crust Punk
Post-Punk

All have flaws and things to criticize about them, but they all have solid records and artists in them as well.

D-Tier:
Country
Pop
Doom Metal
Post-Grunge
"Fake Emo"/"Mall Emo"
R&B
Techno
Tough Guy Hardcore
Electronicacore/"Nintendocore"
Djent
Hard Rock
Yacht Rock
New Wave

Usually bad.

F-Tier:
Nu-Metal
Death Metal
Power Metal
Heavy Metal
Deathcore
Thrash Metal
Hip Hop
Disco

Yech.

Z-Tier:
Crunkcore
Black Metal

Not even going to comment on these.

All I listen to are country and worship music, along with seasonally listening to Christmas music.

I'm actually surprised you listed mall emo as "only" D-Tier. Are there any songs in this genre you like or at least tolerate?

I think I'm odd in that I like both versions of Emo, from Tiny Moving Parts to the Get UP Kids stuff like My Chemical Romance and Fallout Boy both before and after From Under the Cork Tree. But I've never really tried to label what I like because I find all the distinctions confusing honestly.

My preferences in general veer more towards alternative music, broad a genre as that is, along with retro and synthwave so that would be A Tier in general for me as it's most of what i listen to.

B would be softer rock, pop, musicals, and the occasional anime theme.

C would tend to be harder rock and country, both decent genres but ones a song has to be really good to get me interested in.

D would be rap, I like the rare song and think some of it is really good, but it's not a genre that ever hooked me.

Last on the list and the only genre I believe I can 100% say I can't find any interest in is metal. I've tried listening to it a few times and it just bounces off me.

I actually Iike the first Fall Out Boy and Paramore records but I consider those to be pop punk. Actually it's not a real genre, just a label slapped on some mostly sh!tty pop-punk and post-hardcore bands. I'll still include it there because really bad post-hardcore like MCR doesn't belong with the stuff in the A-Tier.

having thought this over Djent goes in the D-Tier because while it's one of the most tolerable forms of metal to my ears it's still not something I ever actively listen to. The only metal I do is some of the artsier sludge based metal like Isis and Mastodon and that's because the foundation of it completely lacks any of the elements usually in metal that make it unlistenable to me. Djent is lighter in those elements.

And btw those artsy DIY ethiced black metal bands who dress like hipsters instead of wearing those ridiculous corpse paint and medieval outfits like Wolves in the Throne Room and Deafheaven still fall in the Z-Tier, culturally they're not as toxic as most black metal but the sound.....YECH. there was a period when the Upper Midwest was full of those type of bands and they kept ending up on the bills of shows I went to and I had to leave the venue during their sets because it was like somic torture to my ears.

I don't have a high enough IQ to keep up with all these tiers.

From the ones you listed I like post-rock, punk, hardcore punk, indie rock, 90's alternative, noise-rock, post-punk, and new wave. Some techno is okay I guess. Not interested or haven't heard of the others.

I somehow gave him the benefit of the doubt that he'd include other major genres like jazz in his rankings, and I knew what the top tier would look like, but alas he still manages to surprise me.

Yeah, no jazz at all plus a lot of major sub genres of rock are missing at that. All electronic music is also consolidated under "techno" as well.

Great

New wave
Folk/Celtic rock
(Classic) R&B/Soul/Motown
Blues
Jazz

Good

Disco
Country
Bluegrass
Doo wop
Indie pop

Bad

Hip hop
Whatever BRTD listens to
Anything that comes on a top 40 station these days

Listing it like that makes you really appreciate the immense contributions African-Americans made to the music of the 20th Century.

This is actually a great list, although I think hip hop and top-40 material are confoundedly variable rather than uniformly bad.

Woah, actually impressed with the effort and passion behind this, haha.  I’m definitely more of an artists guy over genre.  Do I “like country”?  I don’t know.  I like Zac Brown Band, I hate Luke Bryant.  I like Brad Paisley, I hate Tim McGraw (not as a dude).  LIke Eric Church, don’t like ... well, pretty much all country-pop trash I’m catching on the radio these days.
