He was a self-described "Gnostic", not an atheist.

Dule has inherited his "derailing threads calling people stupid for believing in God" shtick, but because Dule doesn't present his atheism as some sort of arcane special knowledge that he's sooooo much better than other people for having, it's much more bearable. Greatest I Am's username really does say it all about why he was such a hated poster.
