Wait for it.
There will be some blue-avatars coming around soon, who will give you the "100%-pure intellectual-completely accurate" answer.

The New York Times has obtained Trump's tax returns

I think we can safely say this is a Nuclear Elmo moment.

People may discount it but this issue could resonate with some voters.

Absolutely disgusting. The NYT continues to intrude on Trump's privacy and personal life - why can't they just focus on policy? He's under enough pressure and stress as it is. The folks over at the Times need to learn a little decency.

Not buying these crocodile tears.  Trump has had the National Inquirer go after all of his political enemies with outright lies and BS.  Shining light on Trump being a con man is not an intrusion into his privacy as PRESIDENT OF THE US.

Ok LINO. Apparently privacy isn't something we libertarians value anymore?

The President of the United States does not have the right to privacy of his conflicts of interest and general grifting off the American people.

Sarcasm, I hope?

The New York Times is one of the few organizations I have a lower opinion of than the GOP.

How dare they harass an unsuccessful businessman like Donald Trump.

Precisely. "Don't punch down" is the golden rule of comedy.

Going after the President of the United States is “punching down”?

I lobe how the guy with a gold toilet who barely pays taxes is somehow the champion for forgotten Americans who hate coastal elitists.

Sadly, this will have 0 impact on the election at this point, as does pretty much anything.

i mean this is old news by now he can just say he went around the tax laws that could of been changed by obama/biden admin but they did nothing

Even if it's technically legal for him to pay so little tax, it doesn't make it right. He has an obligation to support the rest of society, that helped make him so successful in life. He doesn't care about other people, he just sees ordinary working people as chumps who should have to pay more instead or get less from their government.

What about the other billionaires like Jeff Bezos and others? They pay their employees like crap while they are racking in millions in gains weekly. They use the government to their benefit - the rich are benefited by the government tax laws which need to change and nobody in the past has tried to change it. this isn't trump's problems its a problem that needs to be fixed. Do i think this helps Biden? Probably not

Well yeah, that's a moral outrage too. Trump's tax reform actually made it easier for people like them to pay taxes, while Biden will raise taxes on Trump and all those other billionaires. So this should be a winning argument for Biden.

Oh it will!
I'm not saying a substantial amount, but peeling-off another 2 - 4% will be devastating (and delicious).

They could at least have the decency to not attack a working man on a Sunday.

$750 dollars (not thousand or million) paid in Federal Income Tax in 2017.

Wow.

Also -

That's because these morons care more about owning the libs than anything that affects their pocketbooks.

Dems need to be blaring this message over the last 5 weeks. "You've paid more for rent in 2 months than Donald Trump's paid in taxes for 2 years"

I also think a lot of people can easily be tricked into their current economic situations being better/worse than tehy actually are really easily.

Quote
Among the key findings of The Times’s investigation:

* Mr. Trump paid no federal income taxes in 11 of 18 years that The Times examined. In 2017, after he became president, his tax bill was only $750.

* He has reduced his tax bill with questionable measures, including a $72.9 million tax refund that is the subject of an audit by the Internal Revenue Service.

* Many of his signature businesses, including his golf courses, report losing large amounts of money — losses that have helped him to lower his taxes.

* The financial pressure on him is increasing as hundreds of millions of dollars in loans he personally guaranteed are soon coming due.

* Even while declaring losses, he has managed to enjoy a lavish lifestyle by taking tax deductions on what most people would consider personal expenses, including residences, aircraft and $70,000 in hairstyling for television.

* Ivanka Trump, while working as an employee of the Trump Organization, appears to have received “consulting fees” that also helped reduce the family’s tax bill.

* As president, he has received more money from foreign sources and U.S. interest groups than previously known. The records do not reveal any previously unreported connections to Russia.

The problem with all you coastal liberals is that you're using this tragic violation of a family man's privacy to poor-shame him for not having his financial affairs in order. Newsflash, libs, normal people get into financial troubles all the time, and Donald Trump is no different.

Fits right in with Biden's "Scranton vs. Park Avenue" line of attack on how rich guys like Trump squander everything they are given and then rip everyone else off. I can see this hurting Trump a little bit and helping to solidify the "doesn't care about you" attack

I’m guessing his niece is was involved with this since she was a source in the inheritance scheme story the NYT did a few years ago.
