They probably know it won't do them much good. About half of America expects Barr and Trump to pull some legal shenanigans in October.

We saw what happened with the Senate report on Ukraine and Hunter Biden last week; it was hardly a blip on the radar because it doesn't feed into any preexisting notion about the disposition of candidate Biden. With Hillary though, it would have consumed a two-week news cycle and then some.

So much for my big October "Surprise" prediction.


(That said, I will be totally unsurprising if Trump starts talking about the unreleased report as an established fact while attacking Biden.)

Even if they released something, Trump and Barr have below zero credibility, and unlike 2016 the press isn't interested in bringing down Biden.

Trumps only hope now is to widen Biden in the debates and hope that there was some secret job fair or double hiring going on to give enough people jobs. Friday is his last jobs report.
