It is the year 1968 and after 8 years of Democratic control, the nation is ready for change. The nation was stunned first by the sudden assassination of President Kennedy in 1963 and then even more so following the horrors of the Vietnam War. Now, we have arrived at the 1968 Presidential Election and in some stunning news, individuals such as Senator McCarthy of Minnesota, Vice President Humphrey, Former Vice President Nixon, Governor Rockefeller, Governor Romney, Senator Kennedy, and President Johnson have all announced they will not run for the Presidency, leaving the race wide open. As such, several candidates have begun exploring candidacies and speak about possible runs or not.

Potential Republican Candidates
Governor Ronald Reagan of California
Former Senator and 1960 Vice Presidential Nominee Henry Cabot Lodge of Massachusetts
Senator Edward Brooke of Massachusetts
Senator Clifford P. Case of New Jersey [x-guy]
Senator Margaret Chase Smith of Maine
Senator Hiram Fong of Hawaii [NOTTYLER]
House Minority Leader Gerald Ford of Michigan [NewYorkExpress]
Among Others

Potential Democratic Candidates
Senator Russell B. Long of Louisiana
Senator Spessard Holland of Florida
Senator George McGovern of South Dakota
Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts
General James Gavin of New York (GoTFan)
Among Others

If anyone wants Wallace or someone else, feel free to message me and I'll let you know if they're granted or not.

I'm already in the middle of two different games...but I am sorely tempted to take Ted Kennedy.

You can wait a few more days to decide yes or not. This is to more or less see if there's any interest.

I think I'm going to sit this one out, actually.

As much as I'd like to play as Ted Kennedy, the nomination process in 1968 is very different than what I'm used to.

Ooh I just revisited this forum to see if anything was going on. I had a lot of fun playing the original so I’d love to revisit this as Senator Case again if this picks up more players.
both granted. I'll give this another week or two to see if it'll pick up any steam. If it can't, then I'll probably put more focus on another game me and Cabbage are working on.
