Tit for Tat, losers. Arkansas can be split in two, Indiana in two, Tennessee in three, Missouri in three, Kentucky in two, Mississippi in two, Alabama in two, Louisiana in two, Kansas in two, and Oklahoma in three. This will make an even 65 states and 130 Senators. With these expanded majorities, the GOP can restore a constitutional majority to the court and remove the engines of cultural destruction in the administrative state.

Yes, we're heading down a path of complete civil and structural collapse. We know.

What Republicans are forgetting here is that if both sides are doing the same thing, then they're even.

Whereas right now, the Republicans have structural advantages up the wazoo.

So threatening to do this isn't the magic pill that Republicans think it is, if Democrats call their bluff. Anyway, we're not there yet.

If Democrats pack the courts, Republicans better obstruct them at least 5 times more than they did to Obama

Come on, they're not going to work with Biden either way. If the filibuster is removed, Biden can just steamroll the legislative minority. It's ridiculous anyway that constant gridlock is seen as a good thing, if the country votes for a party that party should be able to actually implement its policies.

Shows you that court packing will make things far far far more polarized and would even make conservatives such as my self who is opposed to gridlock also become in support of it.

Court packing is beyond unacceptable

Ok sure, if they go to 13. But going to 11 is an unpack.

Mississippi in two, Alabama in two, Louisiana in two

This would likely create 6 new seats filled by black Senators. If these states "split" you'd obviously would have an imbalance or realignment and it wouldn't be the same current demographics.

Your dumb and hysterical post isn't even logical.

IMO it's going to be pretty tough to get existing states to split up, even without a filibuster. You are asking the state governments to give up a lot.

I think it's a long shot in Texas because pro-splitting political pressure can be more easily applied to a state which can (in theory) unilaterally split itself. It's realistic nowhere else.

Not if we do beat you to the punch: make DC into 50 states and change the Constitution to require a 2/3 majority to admit a new state.

Give me a little credit. I'm a lot smarter than you and it's not hard to draw seats to help Republicans.

Kander won two of them, as did McCaskill. Rural Missouri Whites are not exactly longterm Democrats, though.

There's nothing death spiraling about unpacking the Supreme Court back to R+1 or finally allowing all Americans to be represented in Congress. Nothing radical about those at all.

The demographics of gun owners are less favorable than you think they are. I am perfectly happy with a civil divorce for this nation. Are you?

Small and medium sized states aren’t going to split up to get more senators. It’s a pain in the ass to split up a state, it’s why California and New York never did when people really wanted it. It’s not just about drawing a map.

Assuming that Democrats did pack the court there would be enough justices on there to block such an inane plan. With that said you are proposing to create a ton of states with no economic engines and almost no capital that would have to be completely supported by the federal government.

It would be clearly constitutional. If the judges disagree, they are welcome to resign.

If they disagree they would just strike down the proposed states. You probably wouldn't even get some of the conservatives on the court to agree to this because it has no legal basis or precedent. Financial viability would definitely be a legitimate legal test because in some states proposed cities have to meet financial standards to be able to incorporate.
