A conservative Republican who faced serious financial hardship as a result of the Bush Sr. administration but did not like Bill Clinton, and then reverted to the "party line" in 1996 by casting a vote for Dole, and then disliked the impeachment of Clinton and voted for Gore in 2000.

A WWII vet who wasn't impressed with Bush Sr's military experience, really didn't like how Bush Jr. was AWOL and also hated the Nazi enabling Prescott Bush.
